I have a 90 TSI with an eprom ecu that is socketed. My question is , will my car run right if i dont put a chip in the socket? Im still running on stock 450cc injectors. I am going to get ecmlink soon as I can. I just want the car to run until then

Great I have a vpc 550 and 660 chip but I found its not quite as easy to put in as I thought

Couldnt I get another eprom that isnt socketed. Wouldnt that act like a stock ecu

Still need a factory chip if anyone has one. It would be greatly appreicated. Im going with ecmlink but need to get car running while i save my money.

Will any stock eprom chip work as long as its for 1g? I found one on ebay for 22.00 bucks. Sounds like a winner to me

There are EPROM chips that won't be suited for your use.
The most common that would be, is the E931 from the 91/92 Turbo manual AWD cars. There are 4 different versions that came in the 90 turbo ECU's depending on the ECU version while they were still working out the software.

The question is what ECU part number do you have to be sure.
