will i get in trouble for no cat?

When I put my exhaust on, I replaced the catalatic converter with a piece of pipe. Now I need to take it to the shop to have my clutch put on, cause I don't know how to do that. I'm just wondering, if a repair shop notices that I don't have a cat, will they be able to get me in trouble? There are no emmision laws here, if that matters.

They shouldent be able to get you introuble, They're doing a job to change your transmission. Not to look over your car too see if something should or shouldent be there, Now, If you were having your car inspected, That might be a different story. They would hafto fail it. Although I have a test pipe, And I just passed both, Inspections with no problem

shouldn't be no trouble at all and yea I passed inspection too with no cat but maybe it was because I do inspection part time :laugh:

I don't think my car would pass inspection, don't your cars blow out a lot of black smoke? Mine does, but my oil is always black, like midnight black. I'm hoping that sea foam will make my oil cleaner, and it seems logical that not so much nasty stuff will come out the end of my exhaust. Then I might pass?

It's not their job to point fingers. If you are in Cali, then you gotta worry about what happens between the trip from your home to the shop. If some L.E.O. stops you and you dont have a cat, you are in trouble.
