Hey...I have a header and full exhaust and an intake already on my car and I was wondering if an intake manifold and throttle body is worth it to get? I would like to hear from anyone who has done it and I would like to know if you noticed a difference in performance in everyday driving and on the track? and I was really wondering if it was worth it to go ahead and do it, so anyone that can help me out I am willing to listen and open to suggestions and your input is greatly appriciated. thanks to all who respond.

i too am interested if a TB would be a good investment but instead of buying an aftermarket IM i was thinking ported and polished intake runners gasket matched to the head and ported to match the TB

When I got my bored bored out TB, I could definantly feel and hear the differance. There are a few people on here experimenting with IM and TB, do a search.

There is a vendor here selling an intake manifold claiming 40whp gain, but I think that is with all the other mods. I know on Subarus mods like intake manifolds and exhaust manifolds your gains get better the more modded your car already is.

a bored out or aftermarket t-body like the mpx unit will give u a "crisper" throttle and give u ~5-7 whp but i dont think u really have enough mods to get the most out of an aftermarket intake manifold. a ported stock manifold and throttle body however would be a great add on to compliant what u already have.

An intake manifold and throttle body will only do you good if you have a fully built engine w/ internals and a big turbo with late spools that maximizes at high revs.

It will still show an improvement, but it won't be 40+ HP like with a big turbo and high redline. Also, he is a N/A not a turbo.

I disagree I think a tb and manifold are a good mod for someone who revs out a descent amount. You have to keep eveyrthing in prospective when modding a NA car. WHat's a lot of hp to a NA guy is not a lot to a turbo guy but when running other NA guys you can go from losing a race to winning a race with just 10whp a turbo might need 30whp t do the same thing do to where he gets the power and how useable it is. NA cars don't have to deal with lag or anything like that so it's just a matter of where your natrual powerband is. If you get a 4-1 header a big plenum IM and a 3" intake they are all designed to shine in the upper rpm area so where as you might be dead even with your buddies integra gsr after these mods up top you might slowly creep away if you get where I"m going with this. It's all about having a goal and getting parts that compliment each other the best and fit together.

Thank you all who replied to my question. You were all a great help and it appears that I am just going to go with a Throttle Body and save the Intake Manifold for when I have done some more upgrades. So you were all a great help in helping me make the decision. :dsm:
