i have a 91 talon tsi awd with a manual transmission. i have just installed a fmic, 16g turbo, new blow off valve ( will be venting externally), full 3 " exhaust system, thinner radiator fans, a clutchmasters stage 2 clutch, & swapped out my single syncros for doubles in my trans ( had a clutch fork break & swithced them during repairs). I have also aquired 550 injectors, ordered a walboro 255 fuel pump, & picked up a 3" gm maf with translator for the 1g. i was thinking of going with an safc 2 until someone said it would be better to purchase a chip. i have read so many threads i think i have confused myself. would getting a chip for my ecm be the way to go or should i go with the safc 2 (price is kind of a factor)? also would like to know what else i am forgetting.

am i still ok venting to atmosphere with the 2g maf? it is not a huge deal if i need to get another bov, this one was just free & am trying to save a little money. or could i even temporarily get away with crushing the stock valve with this setup? i would rather spend the money on more crucial things for now

You're going to go rich inbetween shifts. I have a 2g maf and won't vent. If anything it only helps not to vent. I use a 2g maf and the 2g maf to turbo pipe. I cut the tube that goes from the BOV inlet to the intake pipe. The BOV is louder if that's what you're looking for. I guess cutting that tube helps with air flow if anything. It was a pretty big obstruction in the intake path.
