will a 94tubro talon 5sp work in a 98gst

Will a 94 talon turbo 5 speed drop in to a 98 gst without problem? i dont have the money to modify. My tranny went out in the 98. and i found a guy selling a 5 speed tranny for 100 bucks. Would the gearing be exactly the same?

The gearing in not the big problem, the trans mounts are the problem. In a 2g you have 3 trans mounts, and only one motor mount. in a 1g all the mounts are on the motor and it only has 1 trans mount.(mabey 2) But to answer the question a 1g trans will not bolt into a 2g without many modifications. I am not sure if the insides are the same or not, if they were you could just put the guts from the 1g into your 2g case. But Im not sure thats possable just something to look into.

I think it would make more sense to rebuild yours, who knows the condition of a tranny that is not meant for your vehicle.
