A friend broke his axle. He has a 97 gst. We know a guy who has 2 90 gst's just sitting there with no engines. Would the 1g axle work? Im assuming no, but just wanted to double check and couldnt find the answer anywhere. Thanks.

Edit: Its the driver's side front axle btw.

Is it AT or MT?
90-99 AWD front axles and 88-92 FWD front axles are all the same small size
However, there is slight length difference between MT and AT front axles

Its a MT GST. Both the 97 and the 90 are MT GST's. And as far as I thought, the 2g front axles were the same between the drive-trains?

are you sure about that? I'm 99.9% there is no size difference between Auto and Manual.

1: I've never been asked AT or MT when buying trans axles for my DSM and they always ask auto or manual if it matters on the part your buying.
and 2: I did a Auto to Manual swap a DSM and used the axles from the auto in the manual. we found no difference.

and to answers your question, I don't think so, because I THINK the 2G trannys are different sizes from the 1G's and I'm pretty sure the car dimensions are different too.

Gimme the codes of the tranny and ill let ya know :thumb:

THe answer to your question is no! The 1g and 2g axles are different but like Boot92 said you can use a 2g AT axle on a 2g MT... i just changed my axels last weekend
