Will a 2g thermostat housing work on a 1g head? [No]

Hey guys. I was wondering if a 2g t-stat housing will work on a 1g head. I'm putting a 1g head on my 7-bolt (blew the hg and upgrading now).

No. While the rear 2 holes line up, you can't make use of the front two mounting holes on the 2g thermostat.

When putting a 1g head on a 2g "The complete water neck assembly on the side of the motor (MUST be May/90- newer)"

Just did one, it wont work the bolt patterns are'nt even close.
