Will 1G CAS fit on a 2G head?

Im doing this mod since my stock crank sensor broke, and i really dont want to spend on a new sensor cus im curently building my 6 bolt block

so will the 1g sensor bolt on the 2g head without any mofications, just plug the wires and thats it?

It will fit exactly where your stock 97 CAS fits. Follow the link the poster above me put up and create the wiring harness. Then, get a timing light and set your base timing. You must have a logger in order to do this because you cannot ground timing on a 2g without DSMlink. Carefully pay attention to the timing on a logger while the car is idling and fully warmed up(no accessories on or even the coolant fans) and also the timing light. They must mimic each other. Much easier if you have a buddy help you out.

i asked because i read that a 2g cam sensor wont fit the 1g head without modifications a thought the 1g cam on 2g head was the same
also i will be doing my harness home built what gauge of wire do i need?

Yes, it fits other than wiring and you must set the base timing on your own. Just use the same size wire. I'm not sure what gauge it is, maybe 16. I used a similar size wire and everything worked out fine. Make sure the motor is at top dead center and the CAS is in the right direction. There is a little nudge on the spinning part and the base where they need to line up for it to be set up for TDC. Set the CAS in the middle, let the car warm up, and set the timing. It isn't a hard project at all so don't be discouraged.
