will 2g 70 amp (auto) alternator work in a 2g (manual, normally 60 amps) without mods

my question is in the title. ^^^^I was going to put a new alternator on the whip and from my reading found out that the auto eclipses have a 70 amp alternator and the manual eclipses have a 60 amp one....I have a 6bolt motor swap and was wondering if I could take a 70 amp alternator and put it on my motor without modification??? thanks...

The auto one is a tad larger..But will be just fine...You will just have a little extra juice is all..

I used a 5 speed one on my auto, and It worked just fine...

Its for a Galant with the 2.4l. 85 amps and the best thing is I have one in my driveway. They look to be a direct replacement. If you just need to buy one I would consider going with the galant one if you have a stereo.

AFAIK, the stock 2G alternator is 75A (didn't know about the automatics). The factory Galant (forget which years) is 90A and is a direct drop in on a 2G.

Thats what I thought because the pin out is the same for the 2g and the galant. The mounting looked to be identical as well.

I have the galant 90 amp in my car now year I orderd was 96. The 2gs have 75 amp alts. Manual or auto except the Canadian models which also had 90 amps. The 1gs had differnet alts for manual auto.

94-98 galants use the 90 amp alternator that is a direct fit.
