I was racing my car, and then when I let off and then started to give it gas again It built boost but the car felt weird. Then there was a boom and my friend behind me said my car shot a big flame and a puff of smoke. What happened? Everything seems to be ok. It did this once or twice before but not as loud.
Thanks,
Tom

do you happen to be venting your bov to atmoshspere?? if you are and runnign the stock maf you will run way way way to rich between shifts. This means that there is alot of unburnt fuel in the engine/exhaust, when this extra fuel is introduced to the heat of the exhaust mani/turbo/o2 housing/etc.. it ingnites sending flames out your exhaust. Great way to get some looks and questions, probably not to good for your bumpers paint.

I know not to vent my bov LOL. I was thinking that it might be because i have a walbro 255 and no fpr?

It happens to me when im driving hard then let off the gas fast (damn animals in the road)... i believe the gas isnt all burned and some detonates in the DP. Or so I've been told.

Fuel cut happens when you have too much air flowing through the maf and the ECU stops fuel from being pumped in the engine because it thinks your still running 450s and it can't possible pump enough fuel to make an A/F that isn't waaay too lean. You wouldn't be pimped a flame thrower from fuel cut. Get the AFPR like 98eclipseRS suggested.

It was definatly LOUD. It kind of sounded like a back fire, But I havent ever heard one this loud. It sounded like a shotgun being shot with a loud speaker next to it. I didnt see a flame though, But I definatly heard it. Maybe I shouldent have intaginized you:(

eh just means that there is alot of fuel that is unburnt in the exhaust. My friends cobra ran abonormaly rich in the upper rpms for some reason and everytime he would race someone between each shift the sound from the gas ingniting could be heard two streets over.
