Wider Tires

Im curious about putting wider tires on my rims.

I currently have 215/45/17, do you think its possible to put something like 225s or 235s on the rims?

Or will i just need to get all new rims?

Well, don't know what rims you have, but I'm running 225s on stock 2G talon rims. They work good for me.....they do have some sidewall flex, but that could be from the tires I'm running.

Thanks, my rims are actually like 7" wide i believe. So if you can put 225s on 6.5" then i should be good. This summer when i buy new tires i will be trying to get something bigger for that nice WIDE stance look.

It will be so sexy with wider tires, mudflaps, lowered, n new exhaust.

Yes you will be fine! Tire manufactures recommend a 7" - 8.5" wide rim for 225/45/17 tires. My 6.5" rim is technically a little narrow but they are working out great for me.

i had 235/40/17 tires on my old 17x7 rims, no issues.
