Car too low to have wider tires?

I'm just about ready to upgrade tires from my stock Goodyear Eagle RSAs but my car is so low that I'm worried that I won't be able to fit the tire I want (225/50/16). I'm riding on the stock GST wheels and have Eibach Prokits but my car just sits so damn low for some reason. Does anyone know if there's anyway to remedy this situation, or if I can even fit those size tires under there?

Should fit, might need spacers. 225 seems big for a 6.5 inch rim.

The 16" OE wheels are only 6" wide. 225s are out. - Jtoby

Heres a small amount of rim tire 101, a 225 tire is going to be roughly 9 inches in width, and a good target is that your rim will be 80% of the width of your tire. 6 divided by 8.8 equals roughly only 68% of your tire width.

If you insist on usin the 6 inch tire heres what you can do. Take 6 (width of your rim) and divide it by 80& ( the potential target size for your tire) and then convert your answer back to millimeters. To do that multiply your answer by 25.4


1" = 25.4 millimeters.



, that only comes out to (I rounded up here) a 195 series tire. Just stick with the stock 205's or get some bigger wheels...
