Wideband Install

Well, got my wideband from SB for 184 shipped. Pretty good deal, But im sort of confused on how this works, and the best place to use it. I have a open dump, to a Punishment DP, to a Thermal R&D catback. I have both the stock 02 sensors in their correct places. So, where do i put this UEGO Bosch sensor at?? They gave me a weld bung, but i dont have anything to weld it with. Can i put it in palce of the o2 housings sensor, or will that not work. Can i put it to the downstream sensor #2? Or is that too far? I dont want a CEL either. Thanks

You can put on either of them, both will do. And also to get a true log on your afr hook the wideband to pin 15 (EGRT) on your ecu. most all wideband sensors have a 0-5v output and pin 15 will do. hope that helped.

Well thanks, but when i put the new 02 sensor in the 02 housing, How do i wire the stock harness into the new 02 sensor?? Am i supposed to?

you should just get the bung welded in for the wideband. Somewhere before your cat will do.

there should only be 1 o2 sensor. thats all thats required, if you have two, then they are both doing the same thing. check it out. i would use the o2 housing for the wideband and then put the regular o2 sensor somewhere before the cat like he said^. if you have to drill a whole and have it welded its not hard, just take the pipe to a shop and they can do it real quick. won't you more than 30 bucks. or see if there is a fitting on the exhaust. ifso just use some thread seal and screw it up. hope that helps.

im asking if i can put the uego sensos in my o2 housing and wire that uego sensor into my stock harness. that will make my new sensor function as a wideband and also complete the narrow circit for ecu

Whatever you do make sure the wideband 02 sensor is at least 18" from your 02 housing to get an accurate rading.

Your better off just getting the o2 bung welded onto your car. I paid less than 20 bucks to get it done at a local shop here. It will save you much hassel in the long run.

Put it in place of your front sensor??? at the o2 housing?? WTF are ppl thinking?? You DO NOT want to do that.

The proper way of using the WB sensor is to weld the bung at least 36'' away from the turbo. Make sure the sensor is at a 10 degree angle pointing down. This is so if moisture gets into the sensor, it drains out.

Some ppl place it in place of the REAR sensor but I didnt like that too much so I welded mine as described.

Make the hole and go to a shop to have them weld the bung. I took mine to a muffler shop and they didnt even charge me. Its such a small bead of weld.

most widebands also state to put it about 36" away from the turbo. I put mine before the secondary O2.

Mine is before the secondary as well and no problems.
