I was searching on here to see if anybody has hooked thier wideband up with a pocketlogger. I just need to see the 0-5v signal. I saw some people hook it up to the rear o2 signal at the ecu. Looking on vfaq there is a pin out for the 1gturbo and I dont see a rear o2. How can I hook up my wideband to my logger? I am using MMCD if it helps.

On a 1G you have to hook it up to the ECU input wire labeled EGTR in the pinout on vfaq.com. Hook it up to that and you will be able to log it under that heading in the logger.
That wont make me throw a code or make the car run bad will it?

No, the ECU will ignore the EGTR since it is not used. I think it was put there for early CA cars but it is not used on federal emissions cars. The ECU ignores it but still will send out the info to the logger.

Ok I am sorry for:beatentodeath: but before I go cutting and spliceing wires I need to talk this out alittle more. Now on my logger(mmcd) I have two o2 voltages. o2-r and o2-f. The r reads like a narrow band. 0-1 volt. The 02-f reads a flat 2.50 volts. Now I was told to hook up my wideband up to the egrt. The problem is that when I log the egrt has a reading in temp. Now when and if I hook up the wideband to the egrt wire on the ecu. (# 15 pin) Wont it show up as a temp reading instead of a voltage? There has got to be a way to get the o2-f to recieve the wideband signal. Anybody got any ideas?

There isn't a O2-F input on our ECU. MMCd also supports the OBD 1 V6 cars like the 3000GT and those ECUs have front and rear bank O2 sensors on the turbo cars.

The only unused analog input on most DSMs is the EGRTemp signal. People running VPCs or MAFTs can free up the IAT and BARO inputs.

I have a MAFT I am just worried that I will not see the AFR in volts on my logger. IF the EGRT is in degrees how will it look if I cut the wire at the ecu and splice in my wideband input? Will I see volts or degrees?

Depending on which wideband and which version of MMCd you maybe able to display AFR on the logger rather than raw voltage. Look and see what choices you have on the options menu in MMCd.

Wow I just got done with my wideband hook up to the egrt line. It is cold as crap outside. It works great. I wonder what the afr table is setup like. It seems to be alittle off compared to my xd-1 innovate gauge. It is either off or the logger is faster then the xd-1

well I found out why my afr's are messed up. I must have tapped the wrong wire on the ecu. I umpluged the wire and I still saw voltage. Can someone give me the wire color for the EGRT? I tapped a blue wire with white stripe.

EDIT: Weird I cut the wire I had going to the EGRT and the thing read 4.7 volts. I hooked the wire back up and it read the wideband voltage. Is there something else going throught that wire from the ECU? You would think if I unhooked my wideband my logger would read 0 volts.

Blue with yellow stripe on pin 15.

Yeah thats the wire I tapped. I guess the yellow looked white. Why would the thing show voltage when I unhook the wideband. It makes the AFR really unstable on the logger. IT is like there are two different things going into that one wire. I cut the wire at the ecu and sodered my wideband output to it. Should I have left the wire there and just spliced the wideband wire into it? This is weird.
