I read that 4g63s can hold up to 400hp with stock internals. Kinda newb question, but what makes this motor capable to hold such power and high boost? I understand it may have lower compression, but what else? Thanks-

because of strong rods and a pretty advanced fuel system for what the car has stock...but yes 400hp is definitely possible

Cast iron block, oil squirters to cool pistons, strong pistons/rods, etc etc

The engine *has* had almost two decades of development on it you know, albeit not having changed too much.
