I currently have an ACT2900 with a street disc and ive burned away the disc here already. I need something to hold up the the continual launch though i do drive the car around town too. Im wondering from others experience just how hard is it to slip this clutch out with a 6 puck. Is it as impossible as people blab about or does it just take adjusting driving techniques? I also noticed the puck discs are not sprung, how bad does that effect things? Please only comments from people with experience on these. thanks

I daily drove a 4puck last year, held up great It's for sale right now with a brand new disk as well as the old one. Not much wear showing on it at all. Competition clutch from www.machv.com

I drove on a 2100/6 puck unspring for almost a year. I will never do it again. My 2600/street disk is soooo much smoother, quieter, and easier on the tranny its unreal.

You could drive it fine if you paid attention. The things I didnt like was the lack of a sprung hub, which greatly contributed to drivetrain noise, the chatter if you didnt treat it like a grenade with the pin out, the way it destroyed a brand new flywheel in 8 months becuase you had to slip it all the time. It grabbed nice but so does my 2600 and its MUCH smoother

yea i really dont like the idea of not having the disc sprung. i can see that making things pretty rough.

ACT apparently doesnt make a puck disc with springs according to SBR

mirage2turbo - if your still reading this how did that 4 puck feel? I like how those competition clutches have dampening springs. give me your full experience with that thing and if you used it in stop and go traffic much. thank you

i still drive my car around on the street alot. w/ a hks twin plate clutch. they/re 6-puck unspung discs, and first gear is a lil tricky...the pedal feels like stock, but the engagement is very on/off. takes a while to get used to...but from outside it looks like you dont know how to drive stick...cuz of the choppyness...

I daily drive a Spec Stage 3 6-puck sprung hub clutch all the time, its not a big deal. There's a minimal amount of chatter if you forget about it being a 6-puck, but that's about it. I am afraid to launch off of the stutterbox with it, I know I'll break something on my poor 166,000 mile drivetrain as it grabs really hard. OMG

:D I'd really like to see a used flywheel and pressure plate AFTER any kind of copper puck disk. I think those are just super overkill for the street! :D

last week i read in a mag. (forget which one right now) that ACT is coming out with a sprung 6 puck. unfortunately it may not be out until the end of the year.

I would consider a sprung 6 puck, but only if I had an endless supply of flywheels. I will never consider an unsprung 6 puck for a street car again.

my experience w/ a 6 puck is it hardly wont slip, but mine was almost undriveable for stop and go traffic. the 2600 full face is way easier but my next clutch will be SBR's full face one, its supposed to have more clamping force than the 2600 but even less pedal pressure.

I got the SBR 3500 and I don't think it is much less pressure on your leg then the 2600. But thats maybe cause my leg is huge now from the 2600 that I don't think the 3500 is anyless.
