Time has come to upgrade the stockers, particularly got my eyes on power slot or brembo. I understand brady makes a quality disc as well but ive never seen one for our cars.

I know speedfactor has a cool deal for pads discs and lines but just looking for discs right now
Where should I look for good prices and where did you get yours from?

Thanks,
defno

PS: only looking for slots, no drills.

I got my front rotors at Napa Auto Parts. They were $75. No slots, no drills, just a slab of vented heat sink.

They even had cheaper rotors at $38, but they were made in China and I could easily tell they were poor quality.

having used both slotted and unslotted I prefer the latter. Slots have no function of heat dissapation yet alot of websites like power slot try to convince you otherwise. Thanks though.

Were your rotors brembo blanks by any chance? Or just napa blanks?

Slots won't help with heat dissipation, in fact it will hurt it. The deal with slots are that they allow gas buildup from braking to escape from between the pad and rotor, which would result in brake fade.

Whether this is an issue or not with newer pads/rotors is up for debate.

sounds like your describing what drills are for. But I guess i can see how slots could do the same thing under less demanding situations. If the pad made contact covering the entire slot, and pressure had no place to escape the pad could still skate.

i don't get it. If you don't want slotted rotors then why are you lookin for Powerslot or Brembo brakes? that doesn't make sense.

The focal point for slots has nothing to do with heat disperstion or venting gasses, it's the cleaning effect the slots have as they sweep across the face of the pad. When a pad becomes so hot that it begins to fade, it can develope a gel on the surface of the pad. The slots help clear away the gel leaving a clean pad surface to clamp the rotor with. It's primary function is to prevent brake fade by cleaning the pad, not vent gasses or dissapate heat.

I forgot what brand my rotors are. They were made in Canada, I remember that much. The receipt just says 'rotor' and yet they seem to stop the car really well.
