Mine was mild compared to everyone else's in this thread. I just overheated the hell out of mine. Had a bad coolant leak, tried to drive it an hour away to see my mom on her birthday, and melted and warped the hell out of a lot of it. The head isn't in that pic because it was at the machine shop, warped beyond repair. Had bent valves too. I figured with that much damage in the head, the block was probably messed up too so I got a new motor and a 16g because my 14b was done for as well.

Bought the car like this, women driver. Heard a noise and ignored it. Kept driving it even after it was smoking heavily.

Tore it open and this is what I saw. The car was off timed or jumped timing and the impact knocked the valve head into the cylinder. She drove it until it died. I found peices of the valve in the oil pan.

Wowwwww......

P.S. Crankwalk did not kill this motor. It was just an after effect of oil pump failure...
Nothing will make you shit your pants like the sound of a rod bearing ripping in half...

here is the 7 bolt that I pulled from a 95.
There was holes on both sides of the block, the oil pump was nothing but a handful of metal chunks, the balance shafts were bent, and the rod was snapped.

WOW. That one is bad... ^^^^

I've never seen a b-shaft bent like that before.

What put the hole in the block? The b-shaft or the rod?
Probably both the balance shaft and rod being a little drummer boy on the side of the block. Im sure that made a beautiful sound when it went.

Heres a picture when i ran 20 psi on 91 octane on a SMIC. not pretty

This is what I kept from a buddies 90 that I pulled apart.Didn't check his oil so the balance shafts locked up,tore half the teeth off the t-belt,and bent 4 valves. While this was going on,the #1 rod locked to the crank, flew apart at the cap,and came out the side of the block.Balance shaft kept it from going on the road.Thats what the dent is on the cap end of the rod.It took a hammer to pry it off the shaft. It looks like when the rod broke, the piston was on its way up,the plug fired, then shot it back down.

Nice finger nail on the GSX owner, mabye he wouldnt have blown it up if he wasnt a COKEHEAD. Rest of the car probably at a pawn shop.

That was the passenger/camerman/friend. Not the owner.

Back from the dead.

I pulled the engine out of my 91 Talon last weekend. I originally thought it had a blown head gasket due to oil mixing with the coolant. But when we pulled it, we found it was much worse than just a blown head gasket.

Surprisingly, I think that's the first time I've ever seen both sides of the block blown out.

What happens when you dump all your oil onto the freeway. I figure it ran on 3 cylinders for a good 10 miles or so at 60mph with the rod clacking around.
