so you swapped a 4g63t and awd drivetrain from a dsm into a colt? the wheelbases are exactly the same on the two cars?

We're workin on a colt right now, we got the motor pulled, and tranny pulled, all we have left to do is go get the blcok from the shop and drop in and hope for the best!(actually we got a ways to go but we got the colt and the motor )

don't know too much about these swaps, but are you planning on keep the excel FWD? or going AWD?

Right now the original 1.6 is out, and the im in the process of rebuilding a 6 bolt with all the goodies. The interior is completly striped, front has been converted to five lug with AEM rotors, and stock fuel pump was replace with a pump from a 95 talon tsi. I have basically everything to make it work-turbo colt driveshaftes, FWD trans, elantra motor mount, wiring harness, etc.. Just waiting on my pistons to arrive in the mail, so I finally start rebuilding... (this pic has the 5 lug 90 fwd eclipse wheels)

im working on a fwd colt swap right now, with plans of awd maybe next winter. im still in the parts purchasing stage right now tho, its too cold around here to be working on cars (7 degrees today) unless you have heated garage. if anyone that has done this swap before has any advise it would be greatly appreciated. im also looking for the motor mounts to complete my swap; so if anyone has an extra set of those layin around i would be glad to take them off of your hands.

WE have two colts w/ 4g63t swap, we are making one of them all wheel drive, using the entire rear froma colt wagon

with a rear end like that you have to make sure your rotary pistons are dipped in special sauce so you dont go snapping your rotator splint go honda

A mechanic buddy of mine just finished up his 4G63T colt a couple months ago and will be converting it to AWD over this winter. Any questions you have just let me know and i will ask him he will know i guarantee.

to motoman, just go to your local junkyards and look for a hyundai elantra with the 4g63...the timing belt side motor mount is what you need. Also you will need the front axels frrom a turbo 1.6 mirage or colt.
