Whistling turbo

So i got a ride in an evo 8 today and his turbo whistled like mad.... I asked him what he had and he said hard intercooler pipes. So I just wanted to know if there is a way to make the 14b whistle like that....or atleast so i can hear it good.

If it's just the spooling sound you want, just some hard pipes should amplify it. A cone intake doesn't hurt either.

You can hear mine very audible at idle, through the exhaust... Once I get moving it sounds like a cat that got it's tail stepped on.

You can get hard stock replacement pipes from many vendors. Dejon seems to be popular and have good prices. You should be looking at lower pipe for the sound.

Different story altogether if you're planning on FMIC.

There is a silencer in the filter/MAS assembly on a 1g. Search on how to remove that, and it might help (in addition to a hard IC pipe kit). I believe there is a good tech article on that at www.vfaq.com.
