I'm debating if i should put my tial wastegate on my exhaust manifold or on this o2 housing that looks crappy. Putting the tial wastegate on the exhaust manifold is not a bad idea but not alot of people are going to that set up. others are going on the o2 housing. I heard this set up was used more back in the days and of today. What are the advantages of both these set up?

Either way really. Not a ton of difference. Both work well. The only significant differences that I think you should worry about would be the o2 mounted external wastgate you are limited by the wastegate hole size on the turbine housing (or do tons of porting to increase the overal size does help), and its beneficial to remove the flapper door. Also something to think about its a much easier job to recirculate off the o2 housing (most are already setup recirculated) on an 02 mounted gate. While most setups off the manifold have to be custom made back into the exhaust. If you are running a stock ecu/eprom you will need to recirculate it (atmosphere dump can set off the knock sensor and pull timing).

Other than that, thats all I would worry about. Both setups work great either way.:)

Off the O2. Do not recirculate if you can. this way you'll be pulling from all 4 cylinders. The only advice atech person from Tial gave me is smooth the edges on the hole inside the turbine housing/the one that pulls the exhaust gases thru WG/.

I prefer both! I know your thinking how can that be. Well the reason I say that is with a T4 setup I prefer to have the wastegate(s) off the manifold. But with a Mitsu hotside I prefer it to be off the o2 housing to help with boost recovery...

I didn't mean boost recovery I messed that all up. What I ment to say was I like the wastegate off the o2 housing for Mitsu hotsides to make the install easier and for better exhaust flow through the manifold.
