okay, i have been searching pretty much everywhere, and have heard that I should either port my existing 2G O2 Sensor housing or get an Evo III O2 Housing. Which one, as far as performance, is better? Also, I have been looking and have seen the O2 housings with the dump tube? Is that for going down a different path (drag or track?). I am probably wanting to get around 400HP out of my car, running mostly a daily driver, weekends on the track...Please help, thanks in advance.

Evo = Internal volume is 500 cc, 20% larger than a ported factory (eclipse) housing.
but is 20% worth buying a new o2 housing for when you allready have a 2g.
thats my point.

well if you already have a ported 02 housing then probably not but if you running a stock 02 housing then it might. If you can do the porting yourself then go for it. If you have to send it to be ported its going to cost like 75 bucks and deal with downtime. You can get a new Evo 02 housing for 150 bucks (you can also get that ported for an even larger airflow) so its really different for each person.

I would just port it yourself. Porting is fun and easy. Especially if you have an entire day to kill.

Right now I just have the stock housing, have never done a porting job, so perhaps :shhh: , so I don't know if I want to have my car on a down time the first time. I think buying the EVO III would be the best bet, $75 more might be worth it since it is already larger in volume. If I were going with an Apexi N1 downpipe and exhaust, will that have the slotted downpipe flange or do I have to buy that seperately?

Also, what is the need for having an external dump on the o2 housing?
