Well after finding a big crack right smack dab on the top on my exhaust manifold and noticed slower spool up time, I have decided its time to buy a new exhaust manifold. The car is pretty stock with the exception of hks bov, apexi n1 turboback exhaust, and a 14b. My spool is slowed up to almost 3200 ish range. I am debating getting a forced performance manifold but can't really decide if it will be overkill verses a stock manifold. I plan on sticking with the 14b for a while with the thoughts of possibly upgrading to a 16g or t-28 if I find the right deal. I have done some research on the topic but none seem to apply to my question. What do you guys think, stock mani, or Fp mani?

It would be overkill for a 14b, but if you are planning on going with a larger turbo in the future I would just get a better manifold now. No sense in buying a manifold twice. FP or Hafe.

If your sticking with the 14b for a while, and only want to go as big as the big 16g i think all you will ever need is the stock 2g mani.

If you need one i have one laying around i could hook you up with possibly. We could work something out.

I run the FP manifold and love it. Im not 100% sure, but I think the runners are slightly larger on the FP manifold vs the stock one. Resulting in a faster spool time. And the FP will def hold up to any abuse you put it through. Yet a ported 2g manifold would work great if you are on a budget. But if you have the money go with the FP.

Right in between the two.

Also, the fp manifold will probably needed to be ceramic coated or perhaps heat wrapped. the stock heat shield wont fit on it.

I'd take TJCTalon up on his offer, even with a 16g a ported or non ported 2 g mani would be plenty and leaves more room in the bay for working on the power steering and alternator (plus it's cheap enough that you could have most of the cost fo the bigger tuirbo if you don't buy that aftermarket maifold)

I've kept a 2g mani just in case i go to something mitsu flanged here as i'm ready to chage it up from the 57 trim and might go smaller turbine instead of bigger just to see, that's my thoughts anyway

Yeah for now I'm sticking with the 14b and don't ever see myself doing anything past a 16g. Also, does anybody have a recomendation on an o2 housing? I don't really have any experience with porting so I wouldn't really trust myself porting one out. I have a 14b with an apexi n1 downpipe. Any suggestions?

Got my new exhaust manifold on and boy does it feel better. I can actually boost now in 4th and 5th gear. The old one had a crack on top an inch long and the bottom 3 inches long!
