Here in winnipeg we dont' care about the cat converters or anything. Just go to local muffler shop and get them to make piping for you.... get stainless steel. There are barely no bends on my except for the downpipe. I did 2.5" piping and 2.5 " downpipe and just bought an n1 exhaust and its sounds amazing.... and i saved ALOT of money.:thumb: Lucky for my i can just do a straight through pipe....LOL

The apex is kind of loud, had it for about 2 years now.

Eh.. have you checked for exhaust leaks? Are you running with no cat?

I've had my N1 (w/downpipe and 3" cat) for a while too and it's definitely not loud. With the silencer in it's near stock sounding. At one point I had an exhaust leak at the manifold after some engine work, and that made it annoyingly loud, but once that was fixed, it sounds great. My friend's Greddy Evo is louder. I have heard a Thermal and most people say they're not loud, but the one I heard seemed pretty loud to me.. i dunno...

I hacked an old BR exhaust when I was putting my car together. Magnaflow 3" round muffler after the downpipe, Magnaflow 3" oval at the end, it's a good sound and very quiet.

It's a personal thing, I'm running the apex downpipe and catback (eliminates cat) and I find it kind of loud. It's not extremely loud, but it sounded better without the downpipe.

Ah, I gotcha. I had a gutted cat at one point and it was noticeably louder than with even a 3" cat.

I have 2.5 straight through pipe and a 2.5" downpipe you guys think i should just get a muffler shop make my piping because there are barely no bends on my exhaust system. Except near muffler and the downpipe. Also we don't need any cat converters or anything in winnipeg i'm running a straight through. Just wondering you guys think it would be better/cheaper if i got a muffler shop to make 3" piping along with the 3" down pipe i'm getting and keep the n1 muffler? Of course use stainless steel which doesn't rust.:thumb:
