Carbon fiber. #### that overpriced shit unless your serious about going fast. I say paint it. Having carbon fiber door jams and underhood would look hawtt though

I think you should keep the stock doors and fenders for a safer DD just in case you get hit or you hit something

The CF trunk would flow well with the car. The door jams and sills would be dope though. So IMO, CF hood to black roof to CF trunk with Talon wing. In the future, you could even get the roof overlayed in CF.

The doors and fenders in raw CF are too much IMO. If you are using it to save weight, then that's cool but at least paint them. Leave the CF hood and trunk raw though. I think the raw CF everywhere is kinda odd because after you do that, then the rear quarterpanels and bumpers would be the only thing in red. Too much contrast in colors I think. The CF would overpower the red too much. I would only go that route on a black car b/c the shades are more similar so the flow is nicer. Besides with too much CF, you'll attract 5.0 a lot more and that's never a good thing considering the plans for your motor.

Remember this is just my opinion. It's your car and build it for yourself, no one else and that would make you a lot happier. Good luck man

ya i was thinking of getting the fenders and doors and then painting them because the fenders and doors look like the ocean with as much dents they got in them i mean its not that serious but it drives me crazy. ROFL maybe i could get the whole car laid in CF.. Ohhhh :shhh: ... and yes im going to be going super fast LOL :thumb:

Haha, it's crazy the amount of cf for our cars now. I vote for getting it all and keeping the hood/hatch raw. Paint the rest. Oh and as far as getting into a wreck, CF is one, if not the most, durable manmade material to date.

ya it is one of the strongest materials so im not worried about it and ya if i did all cf i would paint all but hood, roof, and trunk... :thumb:

Well i figured that i would update everyone on how my car is going. I have found a 92 TSI AWD and traded a pair of racing seats for the whole car. LOL So my car will be getting a 6 bolt in it until i get my SBR motor in. Atleast ill be able to sell the 1g shell. :thumb: ! Also what all does it take to do the 6 bolt swap into a 2g? Thanks

SupremeDSM :talon:

Wow is that it? That will be simple then. Do I still use the 2g mounts or what?? Wonder how much ill be able to get out of the 1g shell when i get done with taking the motor out of it???

Ya that was right before the engine blew when i took that picture. I cant wait to get her back on the road. This swap does not look to bad to do. Might take a few days to complete it. Then its time to sell the 1g shell. How long until i get proven member status? Lol so i can post in the classifieds.

You need 50 posts in a tech forum. If your not up to that by the time your ready to sell, I'll help and post them up for you and just give your email or phone number. Plus it would help my seller rating :D

Ya ill probably have to have you post it up for me. :rocks: I pick that car up tomorrow though so im pretty excited about that. Woot :p

It was meant to be more than driven. It needs to be run into the ground and abused as much as possible. OMG :beatentodeath:

Dont get me wrong because i love my car too. But you know if you baby them it seems like the wanna break when you decide to abuse them on the streets. So why not take it hard on them. Show them whos boss in this battle. ! I pick up that 1g tonight. Woot :rocks:

LOL Yeah I know what your saying. Word of advice though, put a few hundred break-in miles on your built one first before you just hit it WOT and blast through 5th. That way you can search for oil/vacuum leaks, and get it all worked out before you really pound it.

i will do a break in for about 100 miles on it then abuse the crap out of it. That is what SBR recommended to me to do. They told me if anything breaks within the engine the will replace it. :thumb: THey say its better off abusing it in the first few hundred miles than to baby it for a break in because if you do that then it will be used to getting babied. :beatentodeath:

ya it will be my back up motor just in case something does happen to the built motor. because you never know.. LOL. :p

Ok so i went and picked up the car today. The shell is in some really bad shape. But the motor on the other hand is super clean. It also runs very very smoothly and the transmission is as smooth as butter when it shifts. The interior of the car is in pretty descent shape also. Enjoy the pictures of the back up motor. :p
