Ok, I have been told that the 1G and 2G heads are practically the same thing, just different porting and some other mechanical parts are different. But everyone lists a 6-bolt and a 7-bolt ARP head stud set and they are different part numbers:confused: . So if I am rebuilding a 6-bolt bottom end with a ported 2G head to run in my 2G car, which head studs do I order, the 6-bolt or the 7-bolt?
thanx guys,

You need to get the 6bolt studs. The thread is larger in the 6 bolt (12 mm vs 11mm) so the 7 bolt studs will not thread into your block.

if your using a 2g head on a 6bolt block you are going to need to drill out the holes in your head where the head stud bolts go. You could either take your head to a machine shop and bring them the 6bolt head studs and have them drill them out or you could take a 1/2 inch drill bit and drill them out your self ( not recomended if you haven't done somthing like this before). All in all thats what you have to do I took mine to a shop and it whorked perfectly.

Thanks guys:thumb: , i knew it was something minor and I'll take care of that tomorrow. Pretty sure I can handle drilling the holes myself, if not......I guess I'll just have to use my other head, but I'll do fine I think.
thanks guys,
