Where to get designs manufactured?

Not sure if this is the right place for this or not... I'm a newbie to the whole custom fabrication world, however I just got into CAD design and I'm looking to construct some brackets to mount various things (FPR, catch cans, etc). Where do you guys send your designs to get them manufactured?

I'm pretty sure everyone in the Custom Fab forum does just that, they build it themselves. I'm not trying to insult you here, just informing. I build a lot of my own stuff too, but not to the extent of these guys. Not because of not wanting to, but because I don't have the equipment.

I m not to sure where to send to. But a friend of mine use to have a machine shop were he made tools and dies that kind of stuff. Your best bet would be to start st a local shop and ask around see if they can send you in the right direction.

^ What he said. But you might also try just contacting any custom shop that has CNC machines, it wouldn't likely be any harder than a phone call, and e-mailing them the file.

Call around and google "Job Shops" in your area.

Most one off stuff is expensive unless you find a little mom and pop shop with time on their hands. I have also heard of outfits like this.

Problem is a machine shop isn't interested in your one off piece. There is no money in it. They want to make runs of parts to pay for the machine. Almost everybody I know, including myself, has some friend of at least close associate to assist in small parts and machining. Go make some friends and acquaintances or open your wallet wide.

I can't see where you live but check or PM a freelancer(please don't hate me guys its just a suggestion), check the custom fab thread for someone that lives by you that maybe able to help you. As stated time is money just try all your options. My last suggestion is emachineshop.com as they will do a lot of it for you.
I've done custom one off parts for a few fellow DSM'rs when time is available.

You can give one of these a shot and see if there is any one on there willing to take a one off job.

The job shop I worked at got kind of slow in the winter, so were willing to take on small projects.
Look for places with laser, or punch, or plasma, or waterjet, and press brake machines. Most brackets shouldn't require a mill.
Simple stuff like brackets can be ran through engineering and put to the floor in minutes.

For brackets, specifically look for sheet metal job shops. When you call places, if they say they can't do it, ask them if they know of places that can. You probably would want to talk to an account/sales manager. A lot of times the lady at the front desk doesn't even know what exactly they do there.
