Hi guys anyone with a hx35 I need your .02! I have mine sitting on the shelf and wonder if I got the wrong turbo for my setup! Right now I am running my 2.3 stroker with a hahn 20g setup and stage 3 crower cams! before the 2.3 with stock cams I was getting full boost at 3900 or so and now with the stroker I am getting the same spoolup :( I really wanted more down low since I use the gsx for the dd! I think the cams really kill some of my boost! I don't want to waste the time of installing a brand new turbo to find out it spools too late for me! I am looking for a strong dd low 12 not have to rev to the moon! should I just sell the Holset and grab something else? Thanks for your time :thumb:

I have the bullseye housing. It's spools way to early for me. I'm seeing about 22lbs around 3800 RPM. I see 5 PSI at 2200ish and 10 PSI around 3100ish RPM... Once it spools up to about 12-14 PSI it just takes off. I personally was looking for a spool around 4400 RPM and I built my car for that. Now I have boost under normal driving on the hwy and Personally I hate it. My cruise control will on occasion hit 5-6 PSI going up a hill. Maybe it's a good thing in that respect but it's hurting my gas milage.

Anyways. If you are using the Bullseye housing I don't think you will be disappointed. If you are going that route I'll buy your Holeset TH for $20. I want to go to a T-4 Style TH and want the slower spool up. I know I must sound crazy for saying something like that. Anyways. Shoot me a PM and we can talk.

Cool thanks for the reply! Yea I have the bullseye housing and looks like a real nicely built unit! I think I am going to change my cams and get something a little more tame and get some torque back!

Maglin, what cams do you have? Any dyno numbers? I have a RWD 2.4L holset in my car awaiting some wiring and stuff. Here is a teaser or 2:

dlph---

I must know 2 things...

whats that going in and where did you get the manifold??

Mazda B2600 bellhousing w/ RX7 transmission... The manifold is an SS autochrome with both flanges cut off and replaced with flanges from RRE. It has yet to be welded up. Right now its just balanced on there.. seriously... with the manfiold masking taped together and a wooden temporary bracket underneath.... 30lbs held up with masking tape and wood. Its getting a 35mm external wastegate as well.

Lets not forget that this post is about Holsets. I'll definatly report back with dyno sheets in a few months, but it'd be nice to find out what other people are getting and with what cams. I'm going with MINIMAL IC piping length (10" total?) @2.5" diameter and a conservative intercooler in the hopes that I can get alot of mid to high range.

and another pic from this morning:

He's running stock cams atm, with plans on upgrading in the future. Also, he can't dyno the car here. The closest AWD dyno is in MN and that's a nice 9 hour drive. All of us here in Minot want to see what kind of numbers he's putting down.
