where does this hose go?

here's a link to a pic that i took, where does it go?
one goes to the radiator cap, but i can't find where the other goes. the car runs fine with it unattached, and i get no CEL. does it matter?

It doesn't attach to anything, it hangs out just in case of an overflow of the overflow tank (say that five times fast).

That is just the overflow/vent line for your coolant overflow tank. If your overflow tank ever gets too full, that hose just lets the coolant spill onto the ground...so that hose should be pointed downward in a nice spot so that coolant will not drip onto anything in your engine compartment.

That tube is not connected. It is the overflow for the overflow tank.
