I don't know where this hose connects to but I have noticved coolant dripping out of it. Does anyone know if this is suppose to connect anywhere or if it just hangs?

I thought it went to the overflow bottle too but it won't reacha and all the holes are filled. The hose goes back to a cylinder located under the battery. There is one hose on top and two hoses on the side and this is the bottom hose (largest hose on the cylinder). I took a picture but you can't really tell what it is.

It looks like its coming from the rear of the engine bay so I don't think its the coolant overflow. Also my laser's heater core to thermostat hose wouldn't be nearly long enough to run over to the passenger side that far. My first two guesses were charcoal canister or VC breather hoses, but neither of those should drip coolant

EDIT: Just saw your reply. That's the charcoal canister, you have a nipple on your intake that's missing a hose? Now the real question is why is that dripping coolant? Surely a leaky H/G wouldn't cause coolant to get all the way to the char. canister...

Cap the intake line and remove the charcoal canister all together. :thumb:

I agree just make sure to vent that hose down to the ground. Or if you are going to take out the canister all together make sure to vent the remaining hose down to the ground. You are probably also going to want to block off your EGR. Im sure you can find how to do this by searching the forums. Good luck.

^^^^ he does not have a nipple for it, so he does not have to cap it. I would say just remove the charcoal canister or plug the line and leave it.

If your worried about emission laws dont let the hoses hang out in the open. Try to hide them. In pittsburgh if your getting it inspected and we dont see the canister and we dont see hoses we mark down N/A for the piece. Same as if the car didnt come with it. So try and hide the hoses if you remove the can.
