was wondering what method you guys went by when using your race gas? D o you use a separate tank or do you just put it in the main gas tank?

I am looking to get a separate jaz fuel cell how many gallons should I get( It should last at least 5 runs) , how much will it cost and where do you end up mounting it?

Also what accessories are needed?

THANKS!!!

lets say my almost stock talon is going to make her deput this thurs night... would i need to add some 107 octane? if so how muc ratio wise to reg 93, and how much more performance will i gain

I was under the impression that leaded fuel is bad for all O2 sensors and cats. I have a four wire sensor and no cat, so please tell me more. What's the difference between the two sensors? Is it safer to mix leaded race fuel with unleaded, or is it just as safe to run it straight? I'm very interested in this.

im guessing the 4 wire is aftermarket? or what?

you have two 4 wire sensors, just like all 2g's do stock. 1g's have one 4 wire sensor.

a stock sensor will take more race gas than most think.

I have been mixing 100 oct. unleaded ($4.99 a gal.) with 91 oct. unleaded.

...and following the mixing charts at the bottom of the page. So how much lead can a sensor take and how often will I have to be changing it if I start using leaded fuel?

I've heard if you mix race gas with milk and drink it you will have faster reaction times.
LOL but i heard it leaves a nasty after taste

i get vp c16 (116 octane leaded) at my track and mix it with three or four gallons of fuel, kick up the boost to 22, and let her rip

F*ck that! No way in hell would I pay $10 a gallon for good race gas like C16 only to dilute it by dumping it into a tank that has three or four gallons of piss already in it. At least drive the car around till its been on the gas light for awhile or better yet drain the piss out before pouring in the fun juice.

I'll second that. Pull the rturn hose off the FPR and put another one on going into a gas can. Then turn the car on to drain the gas into the can.

Race gas and pump gas mixed don't work nearly as well as race gas alone.

just get toulene. a 55 gallon drum is 100 bucks. which comes out to $1.82 a gallon. depending on the ratio you use, on 93oct. you can raise it to almost 100 octane.

if your talking about the toulene, i get it from the local paint shop. its a by product of gas. they use it for a paint stripper/thinner, its what they put in octane booster crap. if you look on i believe on bp/amaco's? website you can find some info or do a search on the net. my buddys been running it in his porsche for a while the only downside is your rubber fuel lines start to go after a period of time, which is why you only use it everyonce in a while.

on 1g's there is a fuel pump tester coming out of the electrical harness right by the dsm idenfication card.

Power that and pull the return line into a can and you can drain your tank and you'll be ready for race gas.

Exactly! Mixing race and piss gas is asking for inconsistent tuning. Also the two does NOT mix together as people think.
I've run pure race gas for vary long periods of time(30 gal straight at one time) without fully killing my O2 senser.

Thank you green. Once the sensor has seen some lead can it recover, or be cleaed up some how? Or am I swapping it out? Is having an extra leaded fuel only sensor a good idea?
