I purchased a 2g talon and seller claimed the block came from a evo 3. I noticed it was throwing a code for coolant temperature sensor. Chased down the wire and it it looked like it was cut with no adapter on the actual coolant temperature sensor. Went to junk yard found one, cut it off, went home and it did not fit. Here's what I'm talking about in the pictures. There's a white/black and black cut wire and no adapter and if a normal stock 2g adapter doesn't if what should I do? Solder the wire into the coolant temperature sensor? Thanks for the help!

I wouldn't do that it looks some what like mine. I have the a 04 4g64 an It looks some what like mine let me pull the battery on mine an it an check out an get back with you an It may be a 3 gen sensor.

If that's some weird Evo III CTS (which, I'm not sure it is since it looks exactly like a 2g CTS) then I'd solder in the pigtail you cannibalized from the 2g at the junkyard and then go to Auto Zone and buy an actual 2g CTS and thread it in. That way the connector you got at the junkyard will fit the sensor you bought at Auto Zone.

I think a new CTS is ~$35. Take the pigtail to the car parts store with you so before you buy it you can verify the connector fits.

I tried that earlier. Went to Autozone got a 1995 GST/TSI CTS and tried the sensor I pulled off the GST/GSX at the junk yard and it did not fit. Maybe different years had different sensors? Going back tomorrow and going to grab a 97-99 CTS.
