Where can I find a 2g AWD bellhousing?

I'm in need of a awd 2g bellhousing. The throwout bearing locked up and ripped the whole sleeve off the bellhousing. I've been searching for a week now and can't find anything besides the dealer who wants $600 for it. Any help with this is greatly appreciated.

As far as I'm aware, a DSM bell housing is cast in, not bolted on. Or are awd trans different?

I've bought used case parts from TRE before, or you could try contacting any of the DSM transmission shops out there. You will have to re-shim the bearings when you swap the bellhousing.

Had the same thing happen to me about a year ago. had a sleeve machined out of aluminum and welded it to the bell housing. Just be sure that if you do this make sure that the sleeve is as straight as possible. Will try to find pictures and post later.

I was considering doing that but I don't know any places around that are that good with welding aluminum.

The bellhousing and front cover are all one piece.

That sleeve part un-bolts on the later model EVOs. (EVO eights and nines.) I wonder if it could be fitted to a DSM transmission with some machining.

That's the way it was on my mustang and my 3G eclipse. Really wish this one was like that.

That would be awesome to do but would probably be a little pricey and take a good minute
