Not sure on the gasket thing, but looking at that picture there is black RTV everywhere. I think there was a gasket for that oil pump housing too, but i have a sh*t memory. The laser is good, tuned for 112 octane at 31psi and waiting for a test and tune night as we speak. I was going to run 2 fridays ago, but it rained. Next test and tune that's dry i plan to run. You're welcome to ride in it sometime. It's quick, but not scary fast if you ask me, then again it's more scary from the passengers side LOL.

Dude anything is scary fast when you have a dsm up on jackstands. Ive decided to just go ahead and run the Eagles/Wiseco. Yea, could be a little stronger, but I think it should be fine for the goals of the car. I really don't want to loose all drivability with going to an aluminum rod anyway yet. Not until I get a truck and trailor. I am just praying I get a good tune and pray if its does happen down the road, it doesnt ruin everything I have in the head and turbo.

Hey how big did you go on your OFH? I'm a little scared to go any bigger with fear of not having the piston seal. Also did your piston kinda pop into place when it was pushed all the way up? Meaning when you were done and put the cylinder in to check for clearencing, did it kinda pop in place when fully pushed in? Mine kinda pops and sticks at the end. I have to take something small and pry it back to have it slide out. Do I sound like a complete retard here?

No i feel ya and trust me, now is the time to ask questions. Unfortunately i had a friend port mine for me since i had never done it and he had before, so i can't recall. I only have a Chance at remembering stuff like that if i have done it 2 or 3 times before. I would search and see what you can come up with. Worst case i'll ask a couple buddies and see what they say.

Went to capitol and got in a few passes before the rain closed things down. There was no getting around the wet box and on my second pass the tard sprayed the hose right in front of my car so each pass i tried a burn out or dry hop. Adam got some video of my launch and said he'd post it up. First pass had a 60' of 1.82 but was locked out of fourth gear still and got it in fourth on the second try getting me a 11.9 @117. Second run went through the swimming pool box and did a dry hop, tires were stickin with 19psi, got a 1.72 60' which is pretty good for my car so far and shifted a little slower and got it in to fourth but my shift was slow enough for the boost to fall off so i had to wait for the boost to come back once i was in fourth gear and i ran 11.78 @120. This is pretty much the same exact time as my personal best, but considering I matched it with a bad shift, I'll take that. Third and final run launched well but couldn't get second gear.

I have been planing on rebuilding my original trans that i took out a while ago with bad syncros, but i was really hoping that my new 6 puck disc would let me in to 4th gear at 8,000+ RPMs, but it did not. Since i sold the GST spyder i have some money to spend on rebuilding the trans, i just hope it's enough to get the parts i'll need. Car was running great, just wish the trans would let me do that damn thing.

This is the video of the best pass of the night. (Only got 3 passes in) Pretty good for missing forth and first time out. This can is on a mission. Period. Do I smell bolt-on housing record?

Killer launch..

Getting closer....
My car is at the fabricator's getting the cage made up. Then the rear end cover along with driveshaft loops. Then when I get the money it's time to build the head!

You may beat my time here soon if you get goin on that trans.

Thanks for the kind words, but not a whole lot is stock anymore. Except for the trans, which is about to change as well i hope.

I'm sorry, I should of been more specific. Mainly tranny and a few fuel related things. Trust me..I know what you have done to the car and you have done ALOT. I guess what I was trying to say is with a stock tranny, running out of fuel, on crappy 93 mix, this thing has a lot in it still.

Yeah it surely hasn't seen best case scenario yet. I'd like to get that trans taken care of (just dropped it off in my buddies garage where i do my work) so i can get a new best and atleast be in the low 11's and work out all the bugs and crack off a high ten and make a new HX35 bolt on .55 a/r record.

About to disassemble and analyze my original trans and assess for the rebuild. I feel like this is the first step needed to beat my best ET, take the bolt on record, and eventually run tens. Kind of like, "you have to admit you have a problem before the healing process can begin" LOL. "Hi, My name is Gooberlog, and i have a manual trans problem." ..."Hi Gooberlog" hahaha

<<<<<<this guy checking in, but i dont know why because i have no good news except i have a buyer for my stock 6bolt i think,,, oh and i just had a jsi field trip to dover today for the race,, i love my job!

If you have a manual trans problem, switch to an auto. Problem solved.....AND you'll run 10's with the power you're already making.

Abingdon checking in! Work on APG in Aberdeen,

We live in Aberdeen. Stop by and holla at us some time.

Were you the emerald green 2G with the fan blade wheels I saw going down 40 this weekend?

I'm not throwing in the manual towel just yet. This will be the first time i've actually installed a "fresh" 5speed trans in to a 1G. I'm so used to using old worn out transmissions that i may be just fine. I agree that tens would be a lot easier to do with an auto, but where's the fun in that.

I'm trying to order my trans parts today

there was a message behind my arrows but it didnt show... not cool

What was the message?

I'm having one of those.. "Why am I doing this again? " and "this is getting old" nights. Not good.

It'll all pay off in the end. Anybody else besides us going to Atco this weekend for the Import Tuner Showdown? Probably not, because most of you guys don't like to leave the Harford/Baltimore area of Maryland for some reason.

Hopefully when I get this car together, I will be able to get out more.

Update:

I went ahead and got another OEM front case and am going to start to assemble the motor tonight. I'm hoping to have the motor built by this weekend. Though I haven't ever assembled a motor, I think I have done enough research to do it. I need to learn to work on my own stuff right? I am shooting to have it done by this weekend and ready to drop in by next weekend so I can finish the wiring. Wish me luck guys.

Shawn...2 questions for you.

1.) What slave did you use with your TD? I know certain ones are better to use with this than the 1g. Isuzu or 2g? Mine seized up from rust.

2.) After I bleed the lifters and drop them in, can they sit for a week or so, or should I wait until I'm ready to crank the motor to bleed and install.?
