I just replaced my flex pipe. I have some new turbo gaskets coming, cause I think at least one of them are leaking exhaust around the o2 housing. What's up for this weekend? I kinda stood Adam up last Sunday, but I should be good to come out this weekend.

It's looking like Sunday for me. I'll be busy Saturday, Adam what are you looking like? Tony do you want to meet up at Adams so you can pick up your stuff while your there atleast?

Sunday looks good. We can meet where ever. I know its rather boring at my place, but of course you guys are always welcome. I think Tony is getting all his stuff out of my garage, so this might be ideal. I gotta get this block out of this car. You think we all can pitch in a hand to lift this thing out. I really want to get this bay cleaned up and ready to go, and my back just can't handle it myself. Its only the shortblock. Everything is stripped off it. This will help me greatly and save me a huge hassle. LMK what you guys think. If not, its cool. I just don't want to waste Tony's time towing this up to the shop just to pull this and then bringing it back home for me to work on it.

Travis..how is the beast doing?

Did I ask the wrong thing? All kinds of talk till I ask for some labor LOL...I just remembered I do finally have a jack and jack stands.. Don't worry about it guys.:thumb:

I started working on the oil pan I have. It is really in bad shape. The rust is so thick and the metal is all ate up. I had to break out the grinder. I had to stop cause my ears just couldn't take the echo from the underside of the pan with the grinder.

Haha, I just got me computer back, I picked up 27viruses the other night on ebaumsworld.com
I'll have to call you and see what the final plan is. With an old seatbelt tied to the shortblock and a 2X4 going through it, a buddy and i were able to carry it to my back yard. With an extra person or two, we should be able to get it in to your garage.

My car is doing...go i guess. I have only put 30 miles on it so far. Been busy, rain, and i went to drive it today, but my neighbor was parked really close so i just took my truck.

The owner of the shop i work out of is selling some left over go fast parts that i'll be listing soon if you guys need something give me a hollar. Some of the parts are RED/BLUE -8AN fittings 90*,45* straight as well as -6 the same, t-bolt clamps 2.25",2.5",2.75", 3.75", red and black couplers 90*,45* 3"+, LM1 wideband kit (was used for their dyno they had years ago) he also had o2 bungs for sale, -8 braided line 2 bundles of 3-4', -6 braided line about 4' and more. I made a list of what all he had and i'll list it all when i have more time.

Thanks eveybody for the help. I'm moving along nicely. Hope to have the motor dropped in about 2 weeks. Well see!

Glad i at least made it by in the final hour. I didn't want to wax the GST at first, but it looks like it may have paid off. So far things are looking pretty good, i may be delivering it to Rochester, NY on Thursday. Either trailer or wheel dolly. I'm leaning towards the dolly. I've never used one, but seems simple and should be a lot less work for my NON diesel truck to pull which means better MPGs going up and back. The dolly is only $10 less so it's not about the rental fee, but i have to bring the dolly/trailer back with in 24 hours or it's double. If i wanted to drop it off in NY when i'm done, it would be over $200 to rent instead of $45. That is unless someone knows someone with one in good shape that would make the trip and i could borrow/rent from them?

Adam your car is finally getting some progress. It'll be real nice for you to get it done then you can fill up the back of your work van with all of the left over junk and haul it away if it has little to no value. Such a good feeling to not only finish, but to clean up and have a garage you can use again. Hell, once your garage is empty again, you'll be able to park that sub 11 sec car in there instead of a mountain of parts. I have to give you credit though, you seemed pretty organized through all of that stuff.

Russ thanks for bringing the power probe, i hope i can put it to use with out breaking $hit. I hope these trips to Adam and Tony's gets you fired up to get stuff done on your car too!

Tony it was good seeing you and your boy is awesome. I told the wifey all about him. She's ready man, i think once here cycle falls in place, that's it. Good thing i got my car running already HAHAHA.

The GST is loaded up on a tow dolly and ready for the trip to New York behind the Tundra. I just hope the guy calls or emails with in the next 10 hours with an address for me to meet him or this was a big waste of time for me and $300 waste for him.

Some pics of the Tundra tow rig waiting to go to work tomorrow and get 'er done Tundra Tough Style. The buyer requested that i tape up the front end to help with rocks/debris getting kicked up on the 360 mile trip up to NY. Enjoy

Well 3 states, 14 hours, over 700 miles and about 4 tanks of gas and the car is sold. That was the smoothest transaction i've ever had, and that's including that i drove 13 hours round trip to do it! I sold the car w/o even listing a for sale ad. I replied to a WTB ad on tuners for a 2G GST spyder and the guy that had the ad told his buddy who was looking for one too and a week or two later he bought it. The best part is, my wife said i can use $500 from the car to rebuild my trans. I love my wife. :thumb:

It's always sad to see a DSM go, unless it's going down the track:hellyeah::rocks:

500 is all the wife would of saw if it was me,, maybe thats why im single....hmmmLOL

Yeah maybe! Well i bought the GST for her "birthday" last year, so it was up to her if we sold it. I told her i didn't care. I usually spend money on my car that i make from other DSM related stuff so this was no different.
By the way, the Tundra got that job done with out a lick of doubt. We didn't even whisper the word diesel over here LOL. Although that would have been nice for some of those mountains.

Yeah but this one was 100% stock so it wasn't even like it was a real dsm to me LOL

then the tundra should do fine going to ohio

Pulling my car with a full trailer is another story though. :coy:

This week i plan to buy 4 new tires, front pads and maybe rotors and do an oil change as well. I'll also be looking in to an add a leaf or air bag helpers for the rear suspension to help with sag when i have a car trailer hooked up.

I'm not digging this part at all. It's so hard on the brain and takes forever. This is not for the faint of heart or a rookie to DSM's, like I am. I can say that I have learned a lot about the wiring and our ECU though.

Oh yea, I'm also not happy with these injectors I got from a guy on here. These were supposed to be "BRAND NEW in the box and NEVER INSTALLED". This is what I got. Filthy, chipped up, and one missing the FIC label. There is NOOOO way these are new. I'm still waiting on a PM. I'm interested in what he has to say. I've seen 20 year old injectors in better shape.

Yea, this was not the plan to do the fuse box harness. I kinda got carried away. I think the install will be easier now I know every connector like the bottom of my hand. My engine bay is completely stripped. Now its time to finish the harness I started last week. ROFL

Marking everything for the final cut.

Thanks man. The work has just began. This next month is going to break me. I'm thinking about starting a thread of my own so I don't keep posting and cluttering this thread. It's good to see another 1g local. We are few, far and between. Lmk if you have any questions on how stuff routes for the fuse box harness. I have diagrams for each plug and where each line goes. This may be easier than trying to read a wiring diagram from the factory. :thumb:

WOW Adam, good to see your staying busy with it. Your getting a lot of work done. Keep it up, full steam ahead!

My new engine is going to see some boost this weekend if the roads are dry enough. Hoping to partner up with a buddy to do some pulls and some tuning on an open highway.

Yea man. Coming along. Funny part is I have all the stuff to put the motor together , but have put it off to do all this other crap first. This wiring stuff is not a quick and easy thing to do. The way Mitsubishi layed some of these wiring paths down is ridiculous. For instance, some wires come from the inside of the car, out to the engine bay harness, turn around , then loop right back and go back into the car. These go to absolutely nothing. I'm guessing they did this due to signal synce. It's best to have the wires close to same length going to the same destination. They probably just looped the slack in the harness itself. I know with video the syncing is pretty important, so audio shouldn't be any different. Anyway..this rain is holding me up from doing what I had planned for this weekend. I wanted to at least get this fuse box located to the cab today, but oh well.

How is the motor feel? Have you done a compression check? I bet that thing is going to scream in boost. Keep us posted man. Please!!!!!!

That's some pretty involved work you got going on there. I hope that when your done you can simplify and clean up that birds nest you started out with a lot more. Already with everything laid out it looks so much more usable and easier to break down and understand. I know this weather sucks, and now you know why i want a 2+ car garage. Your tools and stuff take up a lot of room, i want to have everything i need to work on the car in a garage. At worst case i want to be able to pull the wife's car out and my car in when it's time to get working. But Ideally, I'd like to have a 1-2 car attached and then a 2+ car detached garage. But coming from a town house that doesn't have a driveway, I'll be much happier with a 2 car garage.

With today being nicer i plan to get the oil changed, retorque the head studs, check that my weird noise i hear sometimes is nothing bad and get some tuning done. I'm really hoping this thing pulls me half way through those 20 year old seats.

So i got the oil changed, checked the torque on the head studs (all were good) and i did some pulls while my buddy Bob did some magic with the lap top. Car is on 24psi right now on pump gas and it's feeling pretty noiyce! I'm going to see if i can track down some affordable race gas this week, tune it for more boost on race gas and if all goes well see if i can hit capitol on Friday.

It's time to set the hx-35 bolt on housing record!

This is my prediction when you go to capitol.

First pass: 12.1

Next pass: 11.8.

Next pass: 12.2

Last pass...11.4

Not the record yet, but your gonna be taking her easy I think.

haha thanks man. Although the recent 10.9 and 10.7 run you saw was on a "stock housing" which is a t3 housing. Those flow a lot better than my .55 a/r bolt on housing. So right now there are two guys running 10.7 on the T3 housing but i'm not sure what the record is for a BEP .55 bolt on housing. Also both of those guys are doing those times on E85. For now my runs will be on 112 race gas. In my opinion i think E85 out performs 112 or maybe even C16.
I need to find out what the bolt on HX35 record is, but if the car really runs good, I wouldn't mind taking the DSM HX35 record using the tiny bolt on housing ;)

Although the trans will be the culprit most likely now. Hopefully this six puck gets things in to gear at say 8000 rpms
