I'll put my bid down on 10.97

10.97???OMG

Kiss up.

Just playing..:thumb: I don't see why you couldn't get the record for the bolt on housing. I mean you already know you can take the underestimated and over achieve..(aka...14b). Just get some traction and don't let off till you blow up, or break a record.:D

UPDATE!:
So got some tuning done on the car at 24psi on pump gas. Felt like it was running pretty good. Got the tank down to about 18tank and put in a few gallons of 112 octane. Progressively raised the boost. Now it's right about 31psi and my buddy Bob got it tuned with very little to no knock. It was pulling strong and reving up from 3k to 8000 RPMs pretty fast. Before i got the boost to settle around 31, i turned it up a little too high and it was around 34psi. I say it was a little too high cause i got 18 counts of knock. That thing pulled so nicely until about 6grand and my Knock warning light(CEL via DSMlink) came on to warn me to lift the throttle. I got just a small taste of what that turbo has in it. So we got the knock to go away with some tuning and lowering the boost down to 31.

I think with a better race gas, say pure 100% C16 as opposed to the 112 mixed with the 1/8 tank of 93 i had in there still may allow me to run a higher boost like i wanted, but we looked at my injector duty cycle and my 850s are at 97% at 31 psi. So it looks like this may be boarder of what i can run with out doing more upgrades. More on that later, but anyway, if this damn rain holds back, I'll be hitting up capitol looking for that new best.

Hey Chris, welcome again. There are only a handful of guys in this particular thread and these guys are in the Baltimore area. But there are some dsm guys in Howard Co. that don't post much on dsmtuners.com

Thanks Gooberlog. Thought id try to get my self known out there as much as possible LOL

I have a Amazon clutch in my FB. So far so good. Its a ceramic six puck. I have over 15K miles on it

Hey looking to upgrade from stock to 16g turbo anyone know what exactly I need to get this done the best but cheapest way?

I have an XTD Stage 4 Unsprung clutch on my dd dsm for over 20k miles now, and love it. Great clutch.

So anyone going to Cecil County Dragway Friday April 29th at 5?

Anyone have MMCD on palm that they would lend out or possibly sell for a decent price?

Russ, where those sheared off bolts the same as the ones that you got for us?! I plan on pulling my trans soon, but not that soon. I hope the ones you provided were stronger than the ones that destroyed your clutch disc.

ffieropontiac, this isn't one of the cheaper options, but all of the complete kits that include everything you'll need are usually around $170-200 EXTREME PSI : Your #1 Source for In Stock Performance Parts

Ryan, sorry i didn't make it to the meet, I was in the Bahamas. :)

Tony, I love how you just post a picture of your bad ass engine and not a word. Kinda like BAM! There that is! LOL

No those bolts were fine. It was the metal rivets on the actual clutch disk.

Everybody..lets take a moment of silence for Russ's 1G.

On April 25th in Fort Washington MD, for unexplained curcumstances and years of valuable time and effort, not to mention one of the few 1G belize greens in MD, Russ..(AKA "think outside the box Russ") definitly thought outside the box and decided to part the 1G. May we all rememeber his custom bumper and 2" ground strap.

Yet another victim of the "Partout". We'll miss you.

:hellyeah: now if i can just get it in
You have a truck, you have access to every tool you could ever need, and you have a lift and the knowledge to get it done. Either you are very busy and tight on time, or your just getting lazy on me, which is it man. Speaking of, we need to all meet up again for DSM garage night and dinner sometime. Now i work 8am-5pm Mon-Fri and 8am-2pm every other Sat, but the wife likes me to hang on Sundays.

Yeah i can't believe Russ is throwing in the towel on the 1G. It sounds like his Mirage is also having a tough time as well, but i'm hoping that it will somehow be the new home to his 4G63 so he can still hang with the cool kids. Even if it's a stock/mild car that he daily drove, it'd be cool. But I understand if there are more important things that he has to do first. I've been there before, that's why I sold one of the cleanest 1Gs i've ever seen in person. You do what you got to do.

Yea..I'm just busting his balls. I've talked to him quite a bit since then and totally understand. I have been close myself to doing this exact thing, but have chose to bite the bullet and hold on. To much time and $ in this thing to not be able to get my goal. :shhh: low 10's....

I have been trying to do what I can with the car, but its the teadious stuff. I have been studying for a certification for work and it's been eating a lot of my time. I have gotten to get a few things done, but hopefully this next weekend will give me a chance to put a lot of this stuff together. I picked up another set of rods and have debating weather or not I want to switch to a little stronger setup while I have it out. I probably won't and either sell them off or save them for another build. As for the harness..I am to the point where I am going to wait until the motor is in to get all the correct lengths. Here are a few pictuers of my progress..

Well I found I think I found the reasoning why the motor that was in the car had TWO spun bearings.. The dick used black RTV to seal the oil pump cover onto the case. A bunch also. Upon opening it up, there was big chuncks all inside the pump. I am willing to bet this got into the small gulleys and holes for the bearings and blocked oil supply. What a idiot. This is after cleaning most of it out, but you can still see it on the edges.

Misc stuff ready for paint. Some I think I will keep primer instead of paint as I really like the flat look and the color of this primer.

Lastly here is a shot of my turbo setup I mocked up. Notice the exhaust is super long!

Adam those pics just gave me a chubby. Those primered parts made them look sooo nice. I'm so jealous. You are really doing it right and taking the extra time here and there to do the small touches which will really set that thing off. Trust me, you keep doing your build like that, and once that things running, you wont have anything else to do under the hood. It will be like one of those project cars on TV where once they finish the car is DONE.

I think the rods in your built bottom end are more than plenty enough to reach your goals of low 10s and probably beyond. I would honestly sell them. I kept my old 6bolt "for another build" but now that i'm done with my engine and it's running, the only reason i'm still keeping it is, "just in case."

I can't believe that hack used RTV to seal the front oil pump cover to the block instead of the gasket. That is re-donkulous. Maybe he only had a mechanical history of working on IROCS and Five-oh mustangs?? WTF

Travis, I dont think your suppost to use a gasket from the oil pump shell to the case? Did you? If you did, where did you find the gasket? I think you might think I meant the back of the case. I meant the inside of the pump. ;)

All this extra little stuff is making me wonder if once I'm done, I'm gonna be bored as hell with the car. I at least wanna save something to do and keep my drive going. At least I'll have the body work to do:thumb: I think I am going to run what I got and hold on to these rods. They are really really really nice rods though..I'm telling ya...:sneaky: Actually the main reason for switching was my pistons, but hopefully with a good tune, they should hold up a few seasons. I plan on beating the living chit out of this thing come track days, so we will see..:thumb:

Enough about me..How is the Laser? I'm trying to sit in that passenger seat one time man. What's up? When are you going to the run this beast? Friday? If so, Im there.

Not sure on the gasket thing, but looking at that picture there is black RTV everywhere. I think there was a gasket for that oil pump housing too, but i have a sh*t memory. The laser is good, tuned for 112 octane at 31psi and waiting for a test and tune night as we speak. I was going to run 2 fridays ago, but it rained. Next test and tune that's dry i plan to run. You're welcome to ride in it sometime. It's quick, but not scary fast if you ask me, then again it's more scary from the passengers side LOL.
