i have an 3" intake with a boost controller and a boost gauge. i will be getting my exhaust this weekend and right now i am only boosting 15 psi. i want to run at least 17-22. i now i will need to get a fuel pump and injectors and the safc controller but is that it. can i run about 20 psi with race gas and the mods i just listed. please help me, im addicted to boost.

You should be able to but I would highly recomned getting a pocket logger or something so you can monitor what is happening inside your engine because you have the risk of running a lot of knock. And that is bad.

On what turbo will you be doing this with? If all you have is intake and exhaust and fuel mods, you will definitely need to upgrade your intercooler pipes. at 20 psi, you will probably heatsoak your smic pretty quick.

well, right now im only running 14-15psi and i think im getting fuel cut. i have the walbro 190 but have not had the time to put it in. after i install that i can go up to 20psi? that would be sweet.

ok first of all, if you're getting fuel cut at 15 psi, why would you want to up the boost to 17+? so you can blow your motor???

get that fixed before thinking of upping the boost. I bet there's a boost leak somewheres.

and like said before, the LEAST you should have to run 17+ is :

190 pump
550's or bigger
something to tune with / logger
exhaust
intake
IC pipes
BOV

i know you have a pump and intake.. but it'll take more to run 17 psi.

oh btw,
I bet you'll be satisfied with just buying a logger/SAFC and tuning it at 16 psi. this'll yield substantial gains before you start targeting higher boost

It's not even worth turning the boost up to 20+psi on the stock 14b. It's just going to be hott air and less efficent then with it at a lower psi. The more boost, The more fuel you need. You are going to need more then just a fuel pump to run that high!!! Dont blow up your engine!!!!!

not worth it !?!?! OMG tell that to the guys at DSMotorsports who ran 11's on the 14b atg 22+ psi ..

efficient? no; power? yes. but that's them and a select other few that have the capability of running and tuning to get that ET.

You forgot to mention that they were also running an 80 shot of nitrous.

i am going to check for boost leaks tomorrow. if i go with the 255, will i need to get an afpr? i also want a bigger fuel rail too but that is all to come pretty soon.

Yes, you will need an AFPR with a HP 255lph and will eventually need one with the LP 255lph.

You do not need to get a bigger fuel rail. The stock fuel rail has supported WWAAAAYY more than that 14b can throw at it. Trust us. ;)

i've ran a 255 lph pump without an AFPR for about 6 months and recently switched to a 190. while the car ran and idled fine without the afpr.. gas mileage improved by 50+ miles per tank

If you would have had an AFPR it would have helped you net that extra 2-3mpg. (16.9 gallon tank)

Not saying you were wrong for doing what you did. I am currently running a LOW Pressure without an aftermarket AFPR. But at idle it seems all good, but it does indeed overrun the stock FPR. The other time it overruns is when shifting.

My car runs fine, but I can def. tell that the idle is rich and the shift is aswell.
