When should the front cover be replaced?

As the title says...when should the front cover/oil pump be changed? Mine doesn't leak or anything...just wondering how often it should be done.

Ill be doing the timing belt/water pump/crank pulley soon, should I do the front cover as well?

I did it when I rebuilt my engine. Its just some extra piece of mind, knowing that you did it right.
