When Fans kick on Idle Drops and Car Dies

I have a 1990 Eclipse GS. The Car drives fine. and the cars idle is around 1000 rpms when cool and idles normaly at 700 ish. but when the fans kick on the dile will drop to 400 rpms and some times make the car die. It gets even worse when the head lights are on. At first i thought it was the alternator so i checked the voltage and i was getting 13.9 V at idle so that was good. Then i read that I should recheck my timing. When I timed it originaly i set it to 9 deg adv. I will check it again tomorrow to see if its still ok. But what els can it be?

You will need a 91 to 94 ecu for your car or you will be swicthing wires around to make the 90 ecu work

Here is an update. I went to a junk yard and got a ECU out of a 1990 2.0 N/T automatic eclipse. I put it in today. I also checked my coil and i wired the compaseter the wrong spot so i fixed that. then i noticed my injector was leaking fuel so i replaced the O ring. After all that I took the car out. It seemed to have a realy nice steady idle. So then i put on all the Electrical stuff on and then i drove up to 5k let off and the idle dropet to 400 then went back up to 800 then stayed there. Before it would keep moving back and forth now it only dose it once. Is this normal or what? what els should i do. im stuck

My 90 Eclipse N/T sort of has the same problem, except my car doesn't die it just idles really low only when the fans kick on. I think I'll actually try checking my ISC.

But at least your not alone, all our cars suck
