LOL. good one.

I never used to double clutch until I found out what it was. Then I tried it , and I love it. ROFL

I don't think double clutching has actually been used for its purpose in cars since the 50's

Of course not, due to technological advances in transmissions. I think half of the kids talking about "double clutching" don't even know what it actually is.

*not referring to anyone in this thread or on this board in particular.

No guys I wasn't dead serious about that one. It's not my method of choice... or is it? ROFL

It's fun if you want to spin some wheel into second just goofing around though.

I believe the invention of the syncro, eliminated the need for it.

I usually just use engine power to do that :p

Economy: 3000rpm
Power: 7000rpm (OEM ECU), 8000rpm (AFX/R), ~9000+rpm (once MSnS'd)
Average: 3500-4000rpm

Unfortunately, since I can only get 91 octane piss water knock juice here in Arizona, if I drive part-throttle under 2000rpm, I knock. Under 2krpm, it's either acceleration or gear-lurching at the end of a nice compression brake.

you could just buy octane booster

you guys should get back on topic...I really think he actually does it :toobad:

For those of you who don't know what double clutching is,

Search for it on this board, and you'll probably come across a couple of threadz that have all been shut down, and you'll find the one that defiant actually chimed in on with a great explanation.

Double clutching is only used on downshifting.

What you claim to be double clutching is really just popping the clutch in to jump the rpms up if you bog out a launch or miss your power band by shifting to early. (try it in a 12 sec awd car, it'll scare the sh*t outta ya). Its actually kind of pointless to do in any other gear besides first because if your shifting at the right rpm you should be in your power band already, and by popping the clutch it should only slow you down. (please feel free to prove me wrong with a timeslip)

Octane booster is a whole nother ball game.

If you have 90 octane, and you add some ocatane booster that is rated at its highest which is probably like 7 points. You don't actually get 97 octane, you actually get 90.7 octane.

Shoot if we could gain octane points like that, People wouldn't bother paying for race fuel.

Okay now back to the topic of the thread......LOL shift better people

I knew it...he finally admits it !!! :spam:

moral of the story...shift like normal person :thumb:
