when bleeding the clutch

I am just trying to understand how the bleeding process works. Everything I have read says to keep a vacuum line hooked up to the bleeder valve in a little bottle of brake fluid. When the adjusting bolt is unscrewed and the pedal pressed down, the bad old fluid comes out. It comes out that vacuum line into the new good fluid? When you screw the adjusting bolt back in and bring the clutch pedal back out doesnt it suck up the newly contaminated fluid? Just so I understand it right here is how I understand the process:
1. hook up a vacuum hose to the bleeder nipple and put it in a little bottle of brake fluid
2. loosen adjusting bolt and press in clutch
3. tighten adjusting bolt and bring clutch pedal back out
4. repeat steps 2 and 3 until all old fluid is out.

When you screw the adjusting bolt back in and bring the clutch pedal back out doesnt it suck up the newly contaminated fluid?

The bleeder valve (what you call adjusting screw) when closed seals off the clutch slave cylinder so no fluid can be sucked up. BTW only open the bleeder valve 1/4-1/2 turn.

ok thats what i thought and thanks for correcting my technical term haha. so then what is the purpose of having that vacuum line in a small amount of brake fluid if its not going to suck anything up? So each time of doing this empties the system a little until its completely empty and everything is tightened up and closed off, then fill it in the reservoir up on the firewall?

The hose in the brake fluid deal is so you can bleed the clutch/brakes by youself(no helpers)You leave the bleeder valve open for the up and down swing of the pedal.When you push down the air bubbles go out of the hose into the bottom of your bottle of brake fluid. the bubbles rise to the top.When you pull the pedal back up, the hose will suck brake fluid back into the bleeder valve.So long as you have the hose submerged,or you'll just suck air.

so this process only gets rid of air or EVERYTHING in the systen? Like all fluid and air. And once all the fluid is pumped out then i close it all up and fill it up from by the firewall?
