i have a 2g 99 GST and i get a lot of wheel hop at the track and it's gonna break somethin soon if i dont figure out how to fix it. someone please help me get rid of this problem. how do i eliminate wheel hop. is there any traction bars out there or somethin?

I had the same wheel hop prob, so I listened to everyone and got motor mounts while doing my clutch and after i got my clutch broken in I wanted to see if the mounts got rid of the wheel hop and to my surprise they did jack shit in my case. So what happened, wheel hop plus the poly motor mounts, the shock went right to my diff and broke a tooth of a spider gear the very first time i ever had wheel hop with the motor mounts. I personally think if the mounts dont fix the wheel hop gauranteed they will destroy your trans. Recently though I got 18" wheels with stickier tires that the crap I had on there before and now I've only experienced slight wheel hop in the rain. So I say your best bet is to get some really nice tires, I was even thinking about to get the Yoko AVS Sports, theyre and awesome all round tire from what I hear, but if youre on a budget I suggest the ES 100's which are a bit cheaper while keeping about the same traction. PM me on how things go. Good luck

I got rid of wheel hop when I installed my Quaife L.S.D. Now I have Prothane motor mounts, and Tokico 5 way shocks and lowering springs. I'm still looking for 1st gear traction. It's 100 times better now than it was but it's still not there. I'm getting a set of Falken ZE 512's and I'm hoping that will help. But to anyone trying to get rid of hop, I STRONGLY suggest spending the money and getting a Quaife.

Here is a link from the RRE website, pretty much the only way to get rid of wheel hop without spending loads of cash on a LSD is to fill in your motor mounts (front and rear) or to simply get the Energy Suspension inserts. Filling motor mounts It seemed to work for this guy

has anybody tryied this, it seems like a simple and cheap fix and feed back?

If done the right way it will reduce wheel hop and your steering wheel will not have as much stiffness that inserts produce but it will reduce wheel hop, remember go by layers and give enough drying time, i was going to get motor inserts but i had to get a new clutch and flywheel, so i just left it alone for right now but when ever i have time i am going to fill my mounts for temp fix, but remeber there is alot more you can do to get rid of wheel hop, but question is who much do you want to spend? 100 bucks 2,000 hahaha list , TIRES!!! NUMBER ONE! <------ Susp. System Tien, Skunk2 etc. dont THREE SLIP THE CLUTCH DONT Release it or we both Hopping! like there is no tommorow! and turst many more LSD etc... well good luck and have fun and remember take it easy on her! hahah
