i don't get it, i use to get timing to be at about 19 at higher rpms while tuning with just the s-afc. now that i have my maft installed, and giving myself the same 02's as before, my timing is much lower.

here is an old log while tuning with just the s-afc

3272, 25, 29, .88
3404, 24, 30, .48

what am i doing wrong? should i be adding? or taking away fuel? TIA

there are a few things wrong with your car. first off, the TPS isn't going WOT, 97% is close to 100% but its not the same. Fix that.

Your o2s read supper rich, but you are getting bad timing. it looks like you're getting some knock around 3800rpm. why dont u log the knock next time.

now that i reread your post, i see that you're using MAFT. im not real familiar with it.

I think you are getting some knock. How much are you boosting?

Tune the car. There is nothing about a MAFT that magically removes timing, so after tuning you should be able to get the car exactly back where it was.

im a 2g, so i can't read knock. i mostly just got the maft so that i can run it as a blow thru setup instead of recirculating the bov. and all i've done to it is to have it set at 550's so that i don't have to throw off my s-afc settings too much off wack. and i know im running pig rich, but it seems as though the more fuel i give it, the better the timing get. and about my tps, im pretty sure that 97% compared to 100 isn't going to throw my timing off like that. and i am currently running it at 20psi like i did in my old runs. oh, and it seems like im knocking at 3000k because that's where i go WOT. i just don't understand why the more fuel i give it, (even though its running rich already) the more it likes it.

not tryint to hijack thread, but i think this may help him as well.......

If you know that say 93% reading for tps DOES correspond to wot (hence tps needs adjusting) Does it really affect the car in any way? Does the ecu act differently because of this?

ps. I know his says 97 but mine say 93 :thumb: :thumb:

loggers are always 2-6% lower on the tps. mine also goes to 97 or 98% i believe. all u have to do is with the car off have a buddy step on the throttle all the way while u go under the hood and make sure the throttle body is opening all the way. i also watch my tps on my safc and its always at exactly 0% when off the throttle, and exactly 100% when wot. just something about those loggers and tps's.

I think the safc just takes the higest value that it sees, and calls that wot. It doesnt really know. So it should read 0-100%.
I am just curious if the ecu would act differently if i adjusted my tps to read 100% on the logger? If not, then why bother adjusting it?(given you know it is truly opening fully)
