Whats the G stand for on turbos like 14G, 16G, or 20G?

B/C compressors have blades that are all the same size and are better for more airflow at lower boost levels.

G/T compressors have a major/minor blade which alternate and are better for more airflow at higher boost levels.
 
Sorry to threadjack, but I have a question for you Justin, since you seem to be the go to guy for turbos. I currently have a evo 3 turbo with a 14b hotside. That's what I was told from the guy I bought it off of. What are the advantages or disadvantages of having it setup this way? I didn't think it was possible to even do this.
 
the 14b hotside has smaller scroll than the Evo 3 hotside, it makes it spool faster but also peaks earlier (less top end).
