I have a 2g fuel filter because I was under the impression that it would work on a 1g. But now I'm noticing that the 1g and 2g fuel filters have different part numbers! (mb504761, mb868457)

I haven't taken the filter off yet because I don't have a fire extinguisher, and from what I can tell the mounting brackets are not the same. Can I take the bracket off the 2g filter and shove it in the 1g bracket?
Or should I go get one from NAPA? (they have one in stock)

Thanks!!!

He might have wanted to change the filter while testing for spark. Or while smoking a cigarette. LOL

I'm not really Captain Safety, I was just following these awesome instructions plymouthlaser.com/fuel and they reference this scary link plymouthlaser.com/fire

Anyways, turns out they have different part numbers because the mounting bracket is different, but the fuel filter is the same. So I just removed the mounting bracket that came on the new one and slid the fuel filter into my 1g bracket. Easy peasy.

I apreciate the discussion on safety though.
