i bought a 99 gsx...two days after puting a new turbo on it (big 16G)and changing the inj...b/c i had most everything else done to it...i blew the engine at the track...in FL...so i bought another engine (used)..that was a big mistake...two weeks after that..i was in orlando for Hin..and i hit a pot hole busting my rim and slashin my new falken tires after i just got them..then about two months of nice driving..i was on the interstate and something fell off of a truck and went under my car right into my engine...and..yea..that took care of that engine...so after that i sold the car for just the body and made 5k, even though i lost a very powerful car and a lot of time and money... :

one week after i got it,

driving to work, on the highway, going 65, well more like 85

bam! hood flew up in my face, smashed in the winshield. And you know that bump in the hood, take a look next time, if your hood came up where would the bump be?? yep, right infront of the drivers view. The rest of the winshield had cracks accross it, but infront of where I viewed out of, just a cluster%#$ of little cracks. It was nearly impossible to drive home.

when i put the first set of mods on my car (K&N and UICP) and taking it for a test ride around town.... hit some heavy traffic, thought everything would be good...then got a bad feeling, car infront of me slams of brakes, i hit mine, but the person behind me didnt and i got plowed by a girl doing her makeup at 45-50mph (though the body shop said it looked more like 60mph+)

okay here it goes. a few days After i purchased it I noticed that there was a strange hissing noise while I was driving (not the turbo spooling) and the fuel gague wouldn't drop below 1/4 tank full. so I took the car back to the place where I purchased it (still not knowing too much about DSM's) and the owner said to take it to the shop next door since they had a deal working. so I did. 2 weeks go by and I still have no car so I call him only for him to tell me he has somehow managed to burn my ECU up, cracked my exhaust manifold, and broke two bolts in the head! I had the car towed to the local Mitsu Dealership and the bill came to over 3k! Thankfully the guy paid for it all but I don't think he would have if we didn't figure out he didn't have a BAR number. (HE WASN'T EVEN LISCENCED!!!) I learned my lesson. NEVER LET ANYONE TOUCH A DSM IF THEY DON'T WORK ON THEM REGULARLY!!!!!

I was at a party and a very drunk friend of mine started to play "lets throw the bottle" in the air, sadly it landed on my windshield and he was out $160 ;)

worst that happened for me was about losing it while passing a car and looking like a complete retard at 90mph scared me shitless

Driving it home from the dealer redlined 1st gear and blew the belts on the car =/

Blew my second gear and had a cracked headgasket, and a lot of coolant leaks. One time I had to pull over cuz my temperature was all the way at H. Then i see on the floor is my coolant. Still love my car though!!!

Ok i just traded my jetta vr6 which i hated for a GSX....Last year I had a GS that was a complete car when i sold it. So i missed my dsm. Ok i buy the gsx...i find out it needs new front axles a motor mount and a transmission mount. Eh i figured whatever ill throw some money into it to fix it up. Then there must be a short in my passenger side blinkers bc ever time I signal they strobe i replaced all the bulbs and all. Ok now about 2 weeks ago im racing and all of a sudden there is a major loss in power and a weird sound coming from the motor..kinda like a marble bouncing around in there....so i pull over the car stalls and never starts again....spun a bearing. Needs a new motor so now here i am waiting to get my car back...

I live in Illinois, and I bought my DSM in Missouri, at some little dealership in the backwoods, and when I was about to cross the Jefferson barracks bridge taking back to Illinois (within the first hour of me owning it) I got pulled over by a state trooper for not having any license plates or stickers, and speeding (doing 90). LOL amazingly enough since then I haven't been pulled over in this car....

a couple weeks ago i was driving and the turbo stopped spooling up. i hit it hard in first and shifted in second and major loss of power. i didnt hear any big noise the turbo just stopped. the previous owner didnt have the pin in the actuator arm for the wastegate. so it slipped off and the turbo wasnt able to spool up.

Hello! I am new here and needed to reply to this one. I bought a 91 Laser RS, NT, 73K miles, about three months ago. When I test drove it, I saw the "pop up" switch, hit it, the lights came up, but since it was day, I did not relize that they did not turn on. So I went to pick up the car, at night, and it is sitting in this mechanics lot. (it just had a new fuel pump and puter put in it, to go along with the rebuild replacement 5 speed, all by the previous owner).

I start it up, hit the Pop Up switch, and off course no lights, I was like WTF..... Keep in mind, my other two cars, both have light controls ON THE DASH........... After checking fuses etc. I finally relized, the light controls were on the stalk.......boy did I feel dumb. My wife was with me, shaking her head, cuz she knew how excited I was to get the car. To add excitment, the local cop was in the gas station across the street at the time I am messing with my new car in the dark, unattended, shops lot.

Just a note: Let's face it, this was my second sports car ever. It is 21 years newer than my first "sports car", which was also a Plymouth, a 1970 Cuda with a 340. Ok, technically, that a muscle car. Well anyway, after 25 years of VW Rabbits and family sedans, I got the Laser, and frankly, if it not for my wife, I probably would not have bought it. See, we were looking for a van...........LOL. So, you can understand my excitement!!!

This gets better...........

While at the lot, I stuck the plates from my 1981 VW "deisel" Rabbit. We get the car all situated and fueled, and head out on the highway to head home, about 40 miles away. I fail to tell my wife "stay close", and since I can accelerate much faster than the 93 5th Ave, she falls behind. So I am going 55 in the 65 highway zone, waiting for her to catch up. This takes a while, (like never) and some jerk is right beside me, not passing, but just sitting there. After about 5 min of this, I punch it, but keep in mind, I do not exceed the speed limit. Well, I never got the chance, cuz the jerk beside me was a State Highway Cop, and he pulled me over. (that is why she did not catch up, she was watching the whole time!!)

He ask me if I just bought the car, I say yes. That helped him alot, cuz he could not understand, why it did not look like a Rabbit!! I explain I am just taking it home, for the first time, and of course, he explains I am breaking the law.........I play stupid (remember, I had practiced the stupid part earlier with the lights!). So he asks for the title....which I have, but don't.....it is with my wife.........and I inform him, she is probably behind us.......which when he looks...........she is not!! OMG

Luckily, she is in FRONT of us, and we pull up, show him the title, which is all correctly filled out. Anyway, he lets me go. I am like, whew! Then I realize, he did not give me my license back! Oh boy, back to the spiders web, and luckily, no problem, he returns it.

I am like, "this is not good, I don't have the car on the road 5 min., and the cops are pulling me over"! What I didn't realize, was this. Seems so far anyway, whenever a cop is around, I am doing the "right thing". Of course the guy in the Mustang that I was racing about 3 weeks after, did not like it, when I was pulling up on him, but, I saw the cop first, and he got the ticket! See what I mean?? LOL :) :thumb:

Water pump went out 40 miles from home and got stuck with a indie tow rtruck guy that talked to himself and made weird hand gestures.

Bent Frame, axle, control arm, cracked engine mount when drunk driver ran me off the road at 50mph and I took on a big curb and a street sign.

Racing a nissan 350 who lost control of his car and swept across two lanes and smashed in my rear quarter panel. He bounced off and took out a fire hydrant.

My car has a curse. After i sanded off all the paint (for a fresh paint job) I discovered many layers of bondo, all across the passenger side. The car has obviously seen better days.

left the bar sideways the other night only to have my sun glasses fly off the visor and hit me in the face, causing me to drop the wheel and almost spin into a ditch. gotta love awd baby. i seriously stopped with my right tire hanging over the ditch... definately would have totaled my car.

hmm...

bought the car on 12/4/03.....and heres its history...

12/29/03 - blown turbo

1/20/03 - car runs again w/ evo 16g and 550cc injectors installed

2/10/03 - timing belt skips teeth

2/11/03 - timing belt was scheduled to be replaced...but it skipped yesterday

7/10/03 - get the car back with the mod list in my sig

haha....yup thats right, ONE DAY before it was scheduled to have the timing belt replaced it skipped some teeth and bent 8 valves and dented 2 pistons....thats when the 6 bolt went in with all the other goodies listed in my sig. I dont regret it one bit...i just hate this stupid 1000 mile break in crap...haha

Two weeks after I got my 1995 GST I fell asleep at the wheel. The sad part was it was my birthday (2:30am). I am now in the process of putting the 6bolt that was in it in my new 1995 GSX. Wahoo.

Well.....let me see. First, I was picking up my girlfriend. I pulled into the parking lot and heard a pop. The sounded fine but didnt go into gear. I then found out that my car or should I say my master cyclinder broke, I snapped all the seals and the thing cracked. It caused a chain of events that lead to a snapped clutch fork and broken slave cylinder. Just from one little pop noise. Second...... I was making a right hand turn nad my var stalled out, took me about ten minutes to find the problem, my damn timebelt snapped.

i bought my 1995 gsx off e-bay when i was 15. it was 125k when i bought it for 4.5kits auto.. a few months later i got my licence and i could drive it... i drove it for a month and oging to see my ex in joilet my t-25 took a shit a long way from home, i drive it with smoke pouring from my exhaust to my ex's house.. it sayed there for 2 months... then i saved up teh money to tow it to the mechanic. it sat there for 3 months, then i saved up the money for the 2g install it and big16g turbo... then... it was fixed.. i drive to teh southside of chicago teh same day and my motor crankwalked infront of one my friends houses it sayed there for a month and then towed it back to the mechanics shop.. 3 more months to find and enigne... that i got ripped on... and now... my car lives... i have abour 12k invested into my car the mechanic i was going to was such an asshole and ripped me off so bad... i wish i would of got a manual so i could of done the 6bolt swap.. but im thinking once im 18 ill put a down payment on an evo or buy a 99 white gsx manual :D
