I was getting ready to pick up my boyfriend(cootees) from work...it was the first snow for the season....i went outside to let the car heat up..went back inside to finish getting ready....i go out and my car is off..im thinkin ok wtf...it wont start for shit..i thought it was the battery so i got my friend to look at it..(its 30degrees out side)...tunrs out my timing jumpe dnad ####ed up ALL THE VALVES...no compression in cylinders 2 and 4, and 60 in 1 and 3....SO THERE FOR I NEEDED A NEW MOTOR.........anyone else

Well, that sucks..... you didn't have any warning signs of something like this happening?

The other day my bf & I found out the knocking noise my car was making in the rear right tire area..... 3 of 5 lugnuts were gone. Wouldn't have been pretty if that wheel came off on the interstate...

Someone hate you sweetheart?
:p

LOL damn, i know....actually my car has been messed with before....sitting out in the campus parking lots..

I went to Miami a few weeks ago...and while I was gone, a few of the local dsmers took my car to put on my new rims (97-99 gsx rims). They obviously made sure it was on tight and whatnot...

so yeah, we're thinking someone started tryin to steal the rims, but didn't finish. The other tire's lugnuts were loose too...just not missing yet. I will probably get locks soon. :)

my new worst thing:

I had taken my car to the shop recently to have my slave cylinder replaced. Well, the idiots there didn't even bother bleeding it out. They told me the car was ready to go so I picked it up. My clutch and flywheel was fried and ####ed by the time I got home.

*Yes I'm taking them to small claims court*

Oh yeah, I've taken my car there for ALL my drivetrain work. The completley ####ed up, and what's even worse, they pissed me off:mad:

(I'm really not a nice guy when I'm mad)

:p

P.S. How did they get my LSD right, but blow a slave cylinder:confused:

Its a repost, and it aint my story

....

But can someone find those 2 pics of the one guys Red 1g thats smoked along side of the road with the hood off and door open

and the 2nd pic is the 1g red dsm with the deer guts everywhere LOL

those pics made me start crying in the middle of school :(

Worst thing - get the car friday afternoon, drive it around and show everyone what a good deal i got, then goin to friends place on sunday afternoon and while in the middle of stomping on an M3 (dont know WHY I was winning - we were goin 110) and my motor just dies. So Im on 61 in the passing lane in traffic coasting to a stop, luckily i was able to get it to the side of the road w/out ps or brakes. Then I go to call my dad to come and get me..f*ckin cell phone batt. is dead. So I walk 2 miles to my friends place where all my firends go hey how good was that deal now huh...

where to start......

1.hitting a firehydrant going 40mph with the front end of my car, long long story , the hydrant was almost completely horizontal to the ground , luckily it didnt blow out water everywhere

2. getting a brick through throw my hatch glass, fING haters

3.blowing out my stock clutch on a main highway and barely getting home to swap in my act. the car stunk like clutch for weeks

4. hitting a pothole on the parkway of new jersey going 65 mph and destroying on of my wheels

but even after all of these things happening to me . i still love my dsm

1) The factory 7bolt went bye bye 6 weeks after I bought it, and it had 54k so only the extended warranty saved my butt. Took 3 months for the warranty people to ok the repair.

2) The Valve cover was warped and leaking when got back from the new short block. BOV is blown too. Firend hit curb with oil pan.

Gets hit by big army idiot in van speeding 50+ around a blind corner. "my fault" and no insurance on car b/c has been in shop so much. Big dent on right fender, needs replacing but never get around to it...

3) Clutch failed after getting back from valve cover replacement.
Not Warrantied
car goes in garage for 2 months while save up to get it replaced.

4) Get new clutch, but am now behind on payments. Dad picks up car and catches up payments. Have driven car for only 8 weeks out of the first 6 months.

Dad drives over rebar one way home and busts one of the new tires and aftermarket rims wide open. Rim came with car has no name or markings, never do find another one like it. Have mismatched rim.

5) car's turbo is damaged. burns oil after coming off boost, oil drain line was kinked by dealer when shortblock replaced. t25 rebuilt Dad doesn't want to just swap to t28, chooses to have repaired instead.

6) ECU goes out, Ecu replaced.

End of First year of ownership!

Fast forward 2 years

7)Blower motor goes out. Intermittent CEL, car still at parents so no help there in getting repaired/diagnosed. Note: mom has put 40k more on the car, only had 53 k when i got it 3 years ago. Tires are worn out in rear.

8)
another 6 months
Still haven't driven the car myself but 3 days since 2001... Blower moter and CEL still not diagnosed. Get income tax refund to pay off last 10 payments due on car.

Still love my car though

if im paying for a car, there is no way id ever let my parents drive it, let alone putting 40k miles on it. she should pay for a huge chunk of the car since she used it quite a bit in 2 years. damn.

Got my car needed a new p/s belt. So i replace it, and it starts getting chewed up again. So we think its my A/c compressor. I replace that at 700$ and yet the belt still getting chewed up. So i replace my crank 150$ still getting chewed up. Later I find out that the P/S bracket was recalled on some models because of alignment issues. So last a 20$ bracket is all i needed. Total wasted cost 850$

When I bought my car, I bought the extended warrenty, Thank God. I was driving downthe highway when the car just died, I mean no lights no stutter, rpm's just dropped and that was it. So I had it towed to the dealership service center where they told me that they could not dupilcate the problem. I then left with the car. This continued on for about 7 or 8 times. After having the fuel pump relay and the alternator and the alternator relay replaced, new computer and other parts that were on recall, they then told me that it was my driving. After asking repleatly over and over for them to change the fuel pump, which they did not. I gave in and went down the street to trade in the car. After finishing the paperwork, the dealer went to move the car when it died right there on the lot. The dealer went and had the fuel pump replaced and I didnt trade the car in. Finally getting the fuel pump fixed, I kept the car. Moral of the story dealerships SUCK!!!

Blown Headgasket and warped head on my 90 Laser Turbo along with leaking Power steering and no A/C. And I'm not even going to start with my 91 Talon TSi . . . :D I LOVE THESE CARS SOO MUCH :thumb:

My tarnny (5 speed) it broke down twice (the first time it got fixed and the second one i swaped another one for that shit).

THe head gasket had a leak.

ANd the #$@#% car has a misterious oil leak. since i bought it.

I am just going to rebuild the whole engine.

Everything bad happened when I was gone. First the dealer drove it around and bonked a curb smashing the bumper when they were supposed to be replacing the seals for the drop top. Next I park the damn thing and go the east coast only to come back and find the side smashed up from some dumb bi*** who parked in the wrong spot and made a run for it. Next my wife takes the thing to a shop because of a cel and they charge her $60 two different times and just tell her "oh, it just needed to be reset, there wasn't any code" I got my revenge on that one... Anyways I need to train her :D

When my BF had my talon before I bought it he had just put a brand new turbo on it. He went to the gas station and put some "good gas" in it and turned up the boost. He called and said it was a beast and was impressed with it. Later that night he called and my cell was cutting out but i heard where to meet him at. The flywheel had exploded as he was taking a friend for a ride and destroyed everything.... but just missed the new turbo and fmic! We were finding pieces of the car everywhere and there were holes left in the road. The pressure plate was lodged up in the hood. I was happy that the were both OK!!!! Now I have the car and so far the only problem I have had is the turn signals stopped working and one wire had to be fixed! "KNOCK ON WOOD!!!!!!!" ;)

I bought the car for 4500 dollars w/ 95K miles on it.. 1 month to the dot later, new timing belts, new water pump, master slave cylinder for clutch, transmission (TRE Made now), new clutch, exhaust manifold had a leak it was a bolt that was broken off in the block :thumb:, and to top it off... the front axles and ball joints were bad.... i think it ended up costing me about 6-7K for it all to be fixed..

God.. you gotta love your DSM  :dsm: :dsm:

Hey guys, My bad experinces with my talon started with buying a cheep MBC off of Ebay. Started great, but with my turbo screeming already with 110k miles, wasnt a good idea. Oh, also definalty bought a faulty boost gauge from pep-boys, which was off 10psi. Guess its just a bad combo... anyways, gauge read 12 when i was at full boost, starting at -10, so i dont really know what i was pushing through the stock turbo, but had a huge fuel lean at 4500 rpm. :barf: I knew something was wrong, but the gauge still read 12 psi, so didnt change much. (yea im a retard... -10...) so of course, blew the turbo to bits, only to buy a "new stock turbo for 2nd gen" from ebay, for $350. all said and done the thing was in all under 700 bucks, because of garage time, and paying a freind. we never figured out how to plum the turbo stock, so we left the MBC in, and didnt boost. Nevertheless, on the way home, Boom, smoke, oil. took it to Mits, $1700 later, new turbo, NO MBC, and dead battery and alternater. (by the way, mits said that the turbo had a bad seal from the beggining). New battery and rebuilt alt ( :thumbdown ), started great, but died after 2 min. ended up, the rebuilder didnt change a thing after 3 installations  , so I got money back, bought a new one from autozone, and havent had problems since :thumb: . all took only the last 4 months of college, and was finished the day i came back home to MI.

yeah so i made the mistake of buying a dsm while owning my mustang still, and only being 17-not a good idea, fast forward a couple months... i have no mustang convertible i have only drove the talon a total of about and hour out of the 2 months ive had it , and now my daily driver is a $300 84 ranger. good news is i got all that money from my stang to put into that fourgeesixtythirzzle ;)
