Well the person who sold it to me had a falsefied title. Then he stole it from me ,fried the turbo, took everything in it ,then gave it back.[said he "found it abandoned"]I ended up paying him $1400 then found out he didnt even own it.I had 2 pay a car lot another $650 befor they repoed it then he had the balls 2 try suing me for what i still owed him..

I was told to be patient after my RS was stolen, yet I opted for a sweet deal on my current GST instead. One week later, my rich uncle calls and tells me that he got a hold of a 1998 TT Supra, 32k miles, clean title, clean everything from a police auction for 11,400, and that it could be mine for 10k even.

I had bought my Talon On ebay with about 87000 miles on it (had only a minor problem with the tail lights not coming on when you turned the headlights on)

I loved that car well before I bought it (I told the guy to fill it with premium and get the oil changed)

ANYWAY, skipping ahead a few years, I was driving home from my girlfriends house at about 2 AM and I decide to put a little weight on the gas pedal (I figure sooner home, sooner sleep). Well, my a$$ decided that I couldn't wait that long.

I woke up and I was going about 75 in a ditch, doing the normal thing I try and turn back on the road (JUST IN TIME to clip a drainage pipe (one of those that goes under a driveway) Flipped it 3 times and the cops said I flew over 120 feet. I was knocked out for a while, but when I got up, I was upside down. There was a guy outside panicing on a cell phone, he damn near freaked when he saw that I was still alive. I was still filled with adrenaline or something and nothing was quite registering yet, because I was walking on a broken ankle (right) and all the skin on my left calf was torn down to the bone. I got to looking and I had turned my car into a friggin pinto sized cubicle (front end was all the way in the front seat and the back end was in the (duh) back seat. I start to  everytime I think about my car (it ends up my ESI saved my life SEATBELTS you gotta love them) :(

 I just brought my 95 Turbo....test drove the thing, it was fine..I figure whatthehell..its only 3500 bucks! I drove home from VA Beach (which was 4 hours away from home) and it rained the whole damn time. About 2 hours away from home, I had a brillant idea of stopping at a gas station to get a drink. After i come back out to turn on the car...I wouldn't start! Turns out that I had a bad ECU...the guy who did timing belt didn't know what he was doin and there was absolutely no antifreeze in the car! Week later...still no car!

i owned my car for no more then 4 months and the tranny went. so i got it fixed thinking that would be that, boy was i wrong OMG 6 months later the motor went (skipped some teeth and dropped some valves BOO-URNS).

worst thing that ever happend. got a brand new headgasket timing belt cams suspension cold air intake and exhaust and the next day i hite something in the road caused my tire to blow which made me go into a spin and i slammed the guard rail took out 60ft of guard rail and totaled my car

I have a 91 tsi with a 90 JDM motor now but my first car was a 91 Dodge Daytona Shelby turbo. I was sixteen and I loved this car. It was fast and cool lookin. But then I went to Fast lube to have the oil changed and the jackass grounded the oil filter wrench to the starter and set fire to it. All the wiring was ruined and the car was totaled.
Now I always change my own oil.

Bought my car with a cracked drivers side headlight and the radiator support pushed back about a half inch from letting the hood latch. I take it home, pull the front end apart. Do all the necessary pulling of the radiator support myself with the assistance of a nice tree and a tow rope, replace the headlight, replace the rusted hood latch, put everything back together, and go for a ride.

Let her warm up, cruise around the block a few times, head for the express way- as soon as I get on the ramp, I open her up. As soon as I hit 75 mph, the hood flies up, smashes my windshield, caves in the roof, and I slam on my breaks, swirve, and nail the side of a guard rail at about 25. The actual latch on the roof rusted right off, it was connected to the latch on my bumper when I finally stopped freaking out and looked at it.

The hood was toast, the windshield's toast, and I'm looking at about a grand to get my roof fixed up.

And all of my work pulling the radiator support out is toast..... man that sucked.

About a week later, my CAS died. Two weeks after that my power mirrors died. Now there's a monster hole in the flex section of my downpipe. WONDERFUL! Gotta love DSM's eh folks?

The very first day i bought my car i was following my friend home and a PIG highway patrolman pulls me over tells me quote " you were dangerously tailgaiting the vehicle in front of you" he makes it seem all dramatic and shit like i was less than a foot away from my friend. i was nowhere near close to him. The Pig ends up giving me a ticket for driving past midnite ( i was 17 at the time, damn cali has stupid ass laws). i go home to mom with a ticket the first day i get my car. the first thing she told me when i took off from the dealership was, "dont go out and get any tickets on ur 1st day with ur car" cops make me :barf:

Non-DSM:
few years back, I had a brand new BMW 528i...gorgous car. Anyways, I went out to wash it and get gas and stopped at a friends house on the way home. They all wanted a ride in the new bim, so I took'em out for a ride. I made a tailwhip turn onto one of the backroads and floored it up to about 120 when I saw a car pull out in front of me. I started slowing down a bit, but he stopped in the middle of my lane, so I swerved around him and the f*cker steps on the gas hitting my back axle! Needless to say, we went into a spin and hit a snowbank and flipped about 4 times and took a chunk out of a big oak tree about 8 feet off the ground. Thank god for BMW engineering that we were all ok. The passenger wheel, wheel hub, control arms were gone, the other 3 wheels were folded up underneath the car (like the one in back to the future!), and there were dents on almost every square inch of the car.

DSM:
No problems with the car for about 7 months (other than bad gas mileage and camber worn tires). Then the t-25 went out and shot oil everywhere. Got it fixed with an evo 16g and 3 DAYS LATER the engine blew (shop said I blew a balance shaft, but not the belt?!?)  I only got to run 9 psi on it. So now I'm trying to pull the engine and the axles are rust welded to the hub and the only way to get any of it apart is to just cut it all out and replace everything.

I have the worst luck...

Oh yea, and any time I had a major problem with any of my cars, or when I get tickets and such, I ALWAYS have a full tank of gas. Anyone else have the 'full tank syndrome' of bad luck?

Worst thing that happened to me was finding out the guy I bought it from cannot rebuild a car.

He said he rebuilt the engine and transmission.

Ok, compression varied ALOT, one piston had 160psi, then another had 135ish. The oil feed line was stripped (At least they fixed that for me), never told me a 3 inch turboback exhaust would boost creep a stock turbo (I was a turbo newbie, he knew this, we were hanging out awhile before this and told me the car would have ZERO problems), Syncros were going bad or shift forks were bent (transmission scratched), Driving down the road a week after I bought it and the top radiator neck explodes, I was driving at about 55mph so I smelt antifreeze at first but didn't see any steam so I thought the guy in front of me had a cracked head/block or blown headgasket, couldn't tell it was me because while rebuilding the engine, I guess they cut the antifreeze sensor, the gaskets in the Talon were all covered in High Temp Silicone because I found out the only gasket they replaced was the headgasket (at least they did that I guess), the dash where the speakers go, if you lift the covers you can see he cut it to put larger speakers up there, not a bad thing right? Well it looks like somebody took a cutting torch to it to open it up. The clutch kept building pressure if I were to release it semi-quickly and it would keep the pressureplate partly engauged and slip the clutch like a bi***. I replaced all of the hydrolics, adjusted it myself at least 5 times, took it to mitsubishi, they adjusted it, still built up pressure.

There are a few more things, but needless to say, all that within a 4 month span kinda pissed me off so I just got rid of it. I'd name who I bought the car from and who rebuilt it but then I would be flamed because "He is the DSM God" and God forbid somebody questions him! I don't believe anything I hear about him or that car anymore, I've heard so many stories about both of them. Latest one on the car was that they stuck it with a N/T bottem end and didn't rebuild it and the latest one on him is the guy who let him do buisness and work out of his garage kicked him out because he was being a bum or something.

Ahhhh well, I'm just glad to be out of that mess right now. I'll probibly get another 90-91 Talon some day but not quite yet. I'm sure one of his friends will come along and try to pin everything that happened to this car on me because the idiot told everybody that I was jacking with the engine the first day I got it home.

Check my garage to see pictures of it. I found out a friend of this guy (Nate) actually bought the car back. I kinda feel sorry for him but I'm happy that at least it went to him. I know he has the knowledge to fix it and keep it running well. Hes probibly the only guy in that group I'd help out if he was broken down on the side of the road because he was always cool guy.

I will never hesitate to repeat this story if asked and if the board allows or if I'm face to face with somebody, I will always state names to warn people against his buisness.

Lets see.

Bought the car, Clutch slipped till 3rd gear and front drivers halfshaft was knocking like mad.

So, replace the clutch, master and slave and halfshaft. Add on boost controller and intake, free mods. I think im good to go.

I start the car, go a mile down the road, oil filter comes off.

Next thing I know it wont boost, I shut down tow it home.

Open the block, all exhaust valves bent and #4 bearing spun.

The head was yellow from the last owner overheating it so much.

The JDM engine goes in this weekend. Lets hope for a better outcome.

Well were do I start. I got my car from the action 1997 GS-T 57k miles for $2400 w/blow engine. Sounds good right? Got a new enginge (used w/44k ) for $1800 als got a new clutch for $40(stock). Swaped the engine car won't start. Finally Started the car. Turn out my Turbo was blown and i was smoking sh!t loads of smoke. Got a new t25 for $400 w/worranty. ok change the turbo car finally running. Drove for a day checked the timing belt cover and it looked like the t-belt was going to go on my any second (got luck that didn't brake) change the t-belts, water pump aslo change the spark plugs wires. when i was changing that turnded out i didn't have a cam shaft sensor. WTF? The guy told me he didn't know how the hell the car was running. so had a sensor put on. costed me $470 all the parts and labor. Ok sound like the car running fine. Got out of the shop drove about 2 days and noticed that my frond roters shake(bend) replaced that with new ones BREMBO cross drilled and sloted ($100 E-bay). finally evrything was ok.

After driving for my 3rd week after i got the car I noticed I was loosing some oil, about 1 QT evry 2-3 weeks. Looked under the car my oil pan gasket was leeking. changed that. Drove fine for about 2-3 month. After i came back from a track one day car was running fine. Stared up the next morning wormed it up for about 2 min. and started driving. After 10min of driving the car i try to pass this cavalier as i heard some wierd noice withe the turbo WTF? As soon as i started spooling it blue smoke stared coming out. So I change the new turbo under worranty. Week later noticed i only had 5psi of boost. Look under the hood my blow off valve is cracked. got a new blow off $150. Finally runs fine.

Couple days ago looked under the car and noticed my turbo oil line leeking. got new oil line for $80 still need to replace it.

Forgot to mention When i just got the car looks like some girl was driving it(said on the name of the tile under privius owner) The engine was tottaly fluded with oil and had blow head. Colected about 2QTs of oil just by taking off my lower intercooler piping the oil was pooring no BC. also had lots of oil in the exust. That car looked like it was beten the hell out of it. Three word for you guys woman can't drive!

my 92 eclipse
the day i bought it iwas driving home and onthe way home i decided to see how fast she got. it got up to 90 and stopped, it wouldnt go any further, all of a sudden the engine dies and i coast to a stop on the side of the road, turn out all the wires got too hot and melted and clumped together, that took some time to fix, major pain in the ass.
Starter went out, 2 of the cylanders failed blew the rear main seal, killed the tranny, new ecu, exhaust fell off, new ignition, stuts were destoyed and much more, thats why its gone.

My 99 Eclipse
month after i got it, my clutch exploded and died, and just tonight my power steering belt snapped.

Needed a trans rebuild, had a walking engine, and turbo was about to go. All at once. Being my only means of transportation, I discovered more about public transportation than I ever cared to know for over a month. :|

At least I got everything done better than stock with a TRE trans, 6 bolt block, and a budget 14b. Now if I can just find a budget 16g...

going about 50mph on the drive home one of the ball joints decides to give out...talk about fun times!

when i got my 95 eclipse i didnt know to much about driving stick so a week later i burned out the clutch.. $360 lesson on riding the clutch ...LOL
about six month later come to think off it last month in oct of 04 i was doing 60mph on a wet road and smart as i am i wanted to see if the rear brakes worked which i just changed.... 3 160 spins later i end up on the side of the highway.... i got lucky i didnt die or get hit cause that road is used by truckers all the time weird thing was that no trucker was in sight ....

I read a lot of stories and would have to agree that there are more bad than good.
I got my 93 TsI, with 122,xxx mi. New tranny, 7 bolt motor. 3 weeks after driving it, threw a rod. Nice!! Took a month to get the rebuild (shop had trouble finding a block), got the car back, broke it in to 2000 miles. Felt strange when i drove it, took it to get checked out. crankwalk. New bottom-end for me. Luckily under warranty. Oh yea, 1 week after purchase, i overheated twice. Got charged for a thermostat i didnt need. finally figured out that my radiator fan motor was shot. Nothing but problems, except when im boosting with the system turned all the way up!! I love it and hate it all at the same time.

hmmmm, lets see....had my car for 3 years, only ran 1 full year through out all 3.

2 heads

1 tranny

1 transfer case

1 turbo

water pump

altenator< m.s

battery

1 exhaust manifold

1 oil pump

if i was smart, i would of gotten a beater and saved my money.
but im not smart and im still loven my DSM till the day i die or till im broke..wait a minute i am broke, so its till i die. :talon: :thumb: :talon:
