So before i get my new injectors. I just remember reading 4g63girls blog about her setup. So on that note if anyones got sometime what would all be needed to run E-85? And would it be worth it for a simple 16g with only safc no dsmlink?

It will not be worth it because it will be very difficult to tune with the safc. I would recommend this:

DSMlink
above 1000cc injectors
Walbro 255 lph
AFPR

They have full fuel kits that would be cheaper than piecing it together. Search it up. Plenty of people already using and tuning with e85.

^ this and a Fuelab 808 inline filter. Change the filter element after a couple weeks of driving as E85 will loosen the sludge in the tank from gasoline and send it into your filter at first.

Oh and rewire the walbro too, instructions can be found here easily

i was considering e85 setup as well. if i plan on just running stock power, maybe a little more, would i need considerably larger injectors as well? or bump up fuel pressure from 37 to a little more, around say, 43 or 45? i am doing a rewire on stock pump already, i should just get the walbro 190 at least, if not the 255hp, its not much more.

Well if your on a budget like me, then I would suggest getting a walbro 190 and a 2g fuel regulator. I think that would bump up the pressure to 43 psi like the 2g. I think there may be someone on the site that is running a 16g with e85 on 650cc injectors. There can be real power made from running e85.

I just put on a 14b, external wastegate, 560 evo injectors, 190 wally fp and a 1g bov. Things should be moving very nicely soon.

yeah that would bump up some flow for fuel, but only from 450 to about 485cc. not too bad for stock mods, but i dont think that would be enough e85 to run 10lbs of boost all the time (without getting a good tune) i want to get a 20g later on and a tune (possibly logger and other supporting mods) but this wont be until october or a little later. im guessing with just bumping up fuel pressure from 37 to 43 would net up to 240hp at crank vise stock power. not too bad, but i know it needs a tune, heard that raising pressures over stock suck without a tune, run waaaay too rich.

It kind of counters if you have an mbc when adding a bit of fuel. Must have a logger and boost gauge though. Need to know what your doing at all times.

agree, dont wanna blow up the engine. i think a logger would be nice to have just for basic changes in fp and boost. but when i go 20g i will need more than that...LOL

I would just upgrade the whole thing, what the point of going e85 if you don't use it to it's full potential? Considering that e85 fluxuates between seasons its' probably not worth it to go e85 for stock power. Also, different stations have different types of e85, or "quality" of e85. not talking about e92 or whatever, but the theres a tool to measure if it's really e85. It's not stable like 92. mind as well save up and go balls to the wall and go get 1600's and higher boost, just my opinion though. Good luck if you do go e85 though.

Because in the 1000cc range injectors are considerably harder to tune than say 500cc - 800cc injectors. Going balls out? This isn't a measuring contest. You should buy whats efficient AND effective. Not just to have the top of the line part. Means nothing if the tune is garbage.

I ran my 1200cc injectors on an SAFC and Maf-t. It worked real well. I would run a 3g maf (evo maf) and 1000cc injectors with an safc. My buddy ran that setup and it worked great and he was flowing near 60lb/min. Its a cheap setup and well worth it to run e85.

People think you need an expensive EMS to run large injectors and e85. Its not that the safc cant control injectors but it can cause higher timing. Which when running e85 is usually not an issue. On a 2g with its weak timing map the extra timing is actually a good thing.

So you saying i should give it a try? Now i've never heard about running a 3g maf on a 2g?
Anything special needed for that?

so if i do go e85, which safc do you all recommend, and are 850cc injectors ok? i would need the afpr then, run the setup at 45psi or so, instead of stock 37? its a 1g...and then the logger....so injectors will be about, 300-450 bucks..oh nohz!!

oh i found this, tells you roughly what size injector to use for e85. decent using basic math i guess...

Injector-Rehab - Fuel injector cleaning, flow testing, and complete blueprinting service.

so 450cc for gas would need to be 660cc just to keep stock fuel flow for stock power levels...im guess 950cc injectors would be good for what i was aiming at, 400hp or somewhere in the neighborhood. also, since switching to e85, the afr gauge would be 14.7 or so for gas, should we tune for 10:1 for e85 since thats is stoich for the fuel?

and another site i seen said stoich for e85 is 9.765? Injector-Rehab - Fuel injector cleaning, flow testing, and complete blueprinting service. so i guess 9.5:1 would be readout on afr?
