Heyy all :D

Im about to buy a block to do my rebuild (winter project )
and i dont know what block should i get ? i mean what year of the block ? with the thrust bearnings ? or split thrust bearings ?
To dont get the crank walk issue later.

I want to build 7bolt block .

so guys what year of block should i look for ? and what bearings designs ?

thrust bearnings ? or split thrust bearings

which block or bearings designs will give me smaller chance of crank walk

btw ill be using this block when its done in my 98 gsx
thank you so much guyss

this is like the 5th block question asked in like 3 days....
if its a 7 bolt, you want the 98-99 block with split thrust bearings.

Your 7bolt block is fine it has the revise 7bolt block with has split trust washer and they revised them from 97-99 so your block is fine and theres also less change on crank walk on your block, if you going to slap that heavy pressure clutch make sure, you used some good bearings like acl.

not all 97s were revised. its like the 1gs and the 6 bolt. half way through the 97 year they switched to the new design. but you're correct.

Yes you right they did switch to half way thru the year, i know because i have the 7 bolt with split thrust washer is a 97 7bolt. I know it says 95 gsx but my old motor took a dump so i had to swap a 97 one that i had extra.
